Carroll Cooper head coach of the undefeated Carey Blue Devils will address the Carey Boosters Club on January 21 at 10 a.m. at the Columbia Gas Office in Carey. He will discuss team philosophy outlook and weekend game analyses with a Q A session and refreshments afterward.

Ralph L Schlack 530 Grove St Carey died at Wyandot Memorial Hospital Upper Sandusky at 4 p m January 18 due to arthritis with complications. Born February 19 1905 in Arlington he married Hilda Rausch December 13 1924. Survived by wife daughter Carolyn Kramer Lindsey Ohio son Robert Schlack Carey fourteen grandchildren one great grandson. sister Hilda Schlack Arlington and brother Rollo Arlington. Burial Spring Grove Cemetery. Funeral Friday January 21 at 2 p.m. Christ Lutheran Carey.
Any Carey resident meeting legal standards who wishes to run for mayor two council seats clerk or treasurer must file a petition with the Wyandot County Board of Elections before February 1, 1967. Information concerning petitions for the May Primary should be directed to the Wyandot County Board of Elections at the Courthouse in Upper Sandusky.
Carey council met with Mayor Peiffer and heard Harold Haught of Columbia Gas report 1 740 orders and 826 feet of new line. Haught noted recent survey repairs and Shiley to join the Zoning Appeals Board for five years.
Three separate crashes near Carey were reported January 13 to 15. Mitchell of Monclova, driving for Commercial Motor Freight, was hit when a car driven by Glenn Burns miscontrolled on East Findlay Street. Burns was charged with reckless operation. A second collision on North Patterson Street left James Roller and Eugene Schreiner with injuries. Schreiner was cited for failure to stop. A third incident behind the Eagles Lodge involved an unknown vehicle striking Dallas Risner’s parked car, causing minor damage.

Dr. W. A. Lutz of the Carey Chiropractic Clinic on N. Vance Street announced a help yourself to health course for Carey and area residents. He will teach the major body systems and reflex centers and explain their relation to better health and steps to improve well being. Contact Dr. Luntz for class time and information.
College students from Findlay College presented the play Scatter Showeres at the Rosary Altar Society meeting of Our Lady of Consolation Church on January 17. Fr. LeRoy Paul OFM Conv led a discussion on magazine printing, and society members organized charity drives and public relations work for missions and local relief efforts.
The American Legion announces a dance at the home on Saturday January 21 from 10 to 2 p.m. Live music will be provided.

Miss Janice Smith of Christ Lutheran Church will receive the God Home Country award for Girl Scouts who are church members and have at least a year of service. A junior in high school, she has served as Vacation Church School teacher helper and Luther League leader, with nine years in the Scout program. The Lutheran Church in America presents the medal signed by her aunt, Mrs Wade Spelman.
Sergeant Cornelius Baker arrives in Carey on January 13 for a ten day leave from Tay Ninh Viet Nam where he serves with Company B 4th Battalion 31st Infantry 196th Infantry Brigade. He has been in Vietnam since last year and will return to duty on January 23. The brigade, NATO-quoted as the only light infantry unit of its kind since 1855, is involved in operations in the Tron Triangle Region.
Allen Thomas, son of Mrs. Amos Risner of Carey, was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the U S Air Force on December 17 1966 at Kent State College where he has studied business administration through ROTC. He married Marie Bowers in Canton that same afternoon and will become an active officer March 22 awaiting orders.
Carey Band Mothers hold a bake sale Saturday January 28 at 9 30 am in Richardson Electric. Proceeds support band activities and student programs.
Carey Blue Devils secure their thirtyeth straight win and eleventh this season 74 55 over Ridgedale as Jacoby tops scoring with 19 followed by Orians 17 Cote 16 and Myers 15. Saturday 89 68 over North Baltimore with Jacoby 25 Myers 20 Coles 18 Orians 18. Reserves win 19 46. Next host Bettsville Wynford this weekend.
Christ Lutheran Church honored 49 members for fifty years of service on Sunday January 15. The Rev Kenneth Larkin of the Ohio Lutheran Synod preached and noted the combined 2790 years of service. A car gift marked the milestone for each honoree.
The Carey Garden Club met at the home of Mrs. Elbert Tewell on January 16 at 8:00. Mrs. Cloyce Rader assisted with desserts before the business session led by President Mrs. Clarence Hoops. Members shared shady planting spots and discussed a fundraiser bill and upcoming fair theme.
