Carey High School's Blue Devils won a Friday clash over Wynford after trailing 24-17 at Q1 and 16 at Q3, riding a press and hot shooting to a 68-55 victory. Mike Jacoby scored 21, Tom Myers 20, and Larry Cole 12 with Keith Baker 11 as Orians hauled 23 rebounds. The next night Carey beat Bettsville 78-59, with Orians and Myers each at 18 points and 23 boards by Orians. The reserves beat Bettsville 54-27. Carey hosts Elgin Friday and Ada Saturday, with about 350 seats in Ada and radio coverage on WFO 1430 AM.

Marilyn A. Fletcher aged 27 of Vanlue was involved in a two vehicle crash at 8 a.m. on State Route 568 about five miles east of Findlay. Her eastbound car drifted left of center and hit the left rear of Ralph D. Wisner's car from Mount Blanchard. Neither driver was injured.
