Y-Teens Start Year With Inaugural Meeting

The January 7 Y-Teens gathering opened with devotions by Jane Walter and featured a program led by Glenda Snyder. Ann O'Dible chaired the adjourned business session with Phyllis Stombaugh Nancy Gindland and Joyce Gibson handling duties. Municipal records note 400 property owners notified of new or rebuilt water meters as work progresses at about 10 per day. As of January 1, 261 meters were dead. 100 new meters ordered, 50 received with 50 due in February. Elza Jacobs in Critical Condition After Stroke

Elza Jacobs, 86, is in critical condition following a stroke Tuesday about 6 30 a m at the home of his son and daughter in law on North Vance street. He became ill while preparing breakfast and was found on the kitchen floor by his son. He was taken by Goff’s ambulance to Wyandot Memorial hospital Tuesday evening.

Remarkable 91-Year-Old Maintains Independence in Vanlue

Mrs. Ida Deidrick, 91, of Vanlue, born in Wyandot County, remains independent as she does her own housework and tends a summer garden despite a broken arm last February. She guides her radio during church services and keeps active with 21 grandchildren and 387 great-grandchildren.
