Public School reports new band uniforms ordered from C C Ward Co New London. The royal blue outfits feature waist fitted coats with silver buttons white Sam Brown belts and Carey on left shoulder. White braid decorates seams with soft crown caps. Girls and boys will wear trousers to uniform appearance boosting spirit and community interest.
The weekly assembly opened with a piano solo Yuccas by Charles Wakefield Codman, played by Betty Hamlet. Rev. Joseph Herp O M C gave an instructive talk on Shrine church in Carey, its design and materials. Dorcas Baker sang I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen with Marjorie Kramer on piano. Superintendent Moore visited Upper Sandusky High School and praised student involvement in assemblies.
Sycamore Wildcats defeated Cayuga Warriors 36 to 17 on Friday night after a tight first half 1749 score. Carey suffered by suspensions while Sycamore rode late buckets and strong shooting 19 points in the second half as Carey reserves lost 28 17.
A Student Council meeting Tuesday morning discussed tentative plans for a school dance to be held next Monday January 18. The discussion focused on event coordination and activities.
Carey Kiwanis will host Arthur Ss Brooks scout executive of the Harding area council as January 18 speaker. He will discuss Little Acorns Mighty Oaks and the spread of the movement to 73 nations. The meeting will feature the presentation of the Boy Scout troop charter sponsored by the club.
Police opened a sweeping inquiry after two 12 year olds were found intoxicated with wine. One boy broke a Red Cross life preserver case on Perry Street Bridge and needed help home. A second boy was found intoxicated in bed. Police hear four peers stole a five dollar bill to buy wine and may have bootlegged drinks.
Rev Marion E Tinsler attended an all day Lakeside Commission meeting in Findlay. The delegates set August 2 to August 8 for the West Ohio Epworth League Institute with forty two courses planned and 22 faculty named.

The Epworth League selects Lakeside Institute play The Mill of the Gods as its first fundraising project. Books received, cast to be chosen, rehearsals planned for February production later in the month.
Banns for the marriage of Miss Dorothy Meek daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Fleck and Urban Hoepf son of Charles Hoepf were published for the first time Sunday at Our Lady of Consolation church.
A joint Crawford and Ridge township gathering goes to Carey high school on Thursday January 21 at 7 30 PM to explain the 1937 soil conservation program and elect local committeemen. The plan aims to balance soil conservation with crop fertility and includes provisions on clover seed losses and a maximum corn acreage clause. Farmers are urged to attend before spring planting.

Mr and Mrs C D Sheridan and son John from west of town and Mrs C M Ryder and Mrs Jessie Houk of Marion attended the Cumberland Maryland funeral of Mrs E E B Shireman who died last Thursday morning after a six day bronchial pneumonia illness at age 71. Mr Shireman is a brother of the Sheridan Ryder and Houk families. The Sheridan family and Mrs Ryder returned home Sunday while Mrs Houk stayed longer at her brother’s home.
The North Central Ohio Cooperative Dairy Sales Association will hold its regular annual meeting on Monday January 18 at 8 00 p m in the Moose hall Carey Ohio. Lloyd Engle manager of the North Central Farm Bureau Cooperative Cream Association will be the speaker a program is arranged and a good time is assured members patrons and families are invited to attend. The Pythian Sisters and their families will hold a pot luck dinner Thursday at 6 30 pm. Those bringing covered dishes should arrive as close to 6 as possible. After the meal, the 1937 officers will be installed.

A baby boy weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces arrived Saturday for Mr. and Mrs. Howard Winyard, named Melvin Robert. Earlier, a 9 pound baby boy was born Friday to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Karg at their south town home.
S Krebs underwent an operation for appendicitis at Memorial Hospital Lima on Sunday. He is getting along as well as can be expected.

Carey police held Charles Kelley 51 in Carey jail after arrest on charges of mistreating a 12 year old Carey school pupil. The boy said Kelley accosted him on Findlay street at 5 30 p m Wednesday then forced him toward the north quarry area where mistreatment occurred. The youth reached home by 7 30 p m and reported the incident prompting arrest. Prosecuting Attorney William Hunter of Upper Sandusky planned to review the case Thursday morning for possible charges.
The New Central lines and Porcelain Products Inc aided St. Louis after a severe ice storm. Supt. S W McChesney arranged with R B Hamler to ship 46 car tons weighing 3000 pounds on passenger No 29. Insulators arrived in St. Louis at 7 25 the following morning.
Mrs. Martha Ellen Calmes expresses gratitude to friends relatives and neighbors for sympathy during illness and death of her husband Ed ward N Calmes. She thanks Father Hilarion Father Joseph choir members pallbearers and Mr Bristoll for kindness and beautiful floral offerings.

In the Press Crusade the 7th and 8th graders earned the top prize for most subscriptions to the Catholic Chronicle. A beautiful plaque from the Toledo office was awarded, and the school celebrates the achievement with pride.
Students bring more books home this week as semester examinations begin on Tuesday the 19th. Our class demo uses a merry go round and other projects are under construction as we prep for exams. Sister Mary Evelyn substitutes and we practice Song of the Times while hoping never to forget time tables.
Health League and Tuberculosis Association thanks Wyandot County residents for purchasing Christmas Seals. The letter notes Seals saved lives and eyesight, helped prevent disease, and funded a county Public Health Nurse. Signed by Walter Naus M D Health Commissioner.
Fr Paul Vollrath spoke at the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation as he reviewed 15 years of Kiwanis activities. Recent efforts include a Carey safety campaign and advocacy for a sanitary sewer system. The local Boy Scout troop No 22 is sponsored by Kiwanis.
On Tuesday January 19 the local Methodist church and community men hold another Men s Night program at the church. The tentative menu features a novel Indian dish and the program will feature Cloyce H. Duttweiler who served eleven years as president of the Lakeside Institute.
The Young Ladies' Sodality will sponsor a mixed dance at the Catholic hall on Thursday evening January 14. Graham Riley's orchestra will play. The public is invited.
