Henry Wodge of Salem Township Rites Held at Crawford
The remains of Henry Wodge were brought from Pierpont for burial in Crawford’s Ritchie cemetery. A former Salem resident, he died after two years of declining health from dropsy and heart trouble. Funeral services were at Crawford church with Rev. Lewis and Speaker officiating. Pallbearers were IE. S. Burson, Harry Whrlich, Ray Hunter, C. G. Kimmel, Clem Wentz, and Earl Hunter. He was born August 6, 1851 in Seneca County, Ohio and died January 3, 1926 at age 74. Survived by widow Hannah Morgan Dodge, one daughter Myrtle Culp, two sons Thomas and Perry, stepmother Emma Dodge, three sisters, two brothers, grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He joined Beech Grove U B Church 24 years ago and had been a Methodist in Fowler for ten years.
