Hold Up Near Home Ended With Tiny Theft

F J Simonis was robbed on a Saturday evening when two young men approached from behind. A masked assailant pressed a revolver to his face and demanded cash. He surrendered about $3, the pair fled west toward High Street. they did not search him.

Fire at Wall Street Inn Traced to Thawed Pipes

Monday noon the Wall St Inn suffered a minor fire started by a plumber thawing frozen pipes with a blow torch. Paper wrapping on the pipes caught fire and smoldered beneath the floor before smoke issued from under the building. The stubborn blaze caused no damage.

Lutheran Church Notes New Year Sermon and Activities

The church marks the new year with a sermon on The Reckoning of Time by the pastor. Virgil Yohe will preach in the evening, a Van Buren service is set for Sunday afternoon, and Luther League meets at 6 30 in the new parish house. A New Year watch party for Luther Leaguers is planned tonight. Catechetical class meets Saturday afternoon, and a called church council meeting follows Sunday night service. The remodeled auditorium was filled for Christmas, a donation to Oesterlen Orphans Home was received, and dedication is scheduled for January 31.

Bogard and Sours Couple Wed in Upper Sandusky

Virgil Tsalton Bogard son of I. T. Bogard Urbana and Mable Lucille Sours daughter of Mrs. J. A. Sours north of Upper Sandusky were married in Upper Sandusky last Thursday. They left for Toledo after the ceremony and on returning reside at H. A. Kear residence on W Findlay street. Bogard is employed as merchant at Krebs' garage.

Death of Mrs McCune in Pittsburg and Dayton funeral

Mrs Linda McCune died Monday evening at Pittsburg home of her daughter Mrs C E Chalfant after a December illness of pleurisy. Born Linda Squires in Marion 1858 she joined the Myers family in 1868. Henry Beard Dies After Brief Illness at Home West of Vanlue

Henry Beard aged near 79 dies Wednesday morning at his farm home west of Vanlue after a weeklong illness due to bowel obstruction. Funeral at Van Horn church Friday at 2 PM with burial in Van Horn cemetery near Carey. Survived by wife Catherine Esterley and nine children, including Solomon Beard of New London and several others in Amanda Township Findlay and Cleveland, plus 18 grandchildren.
