The Holy Year 1950 proclaimed by Pope Pius XIII unfolds with a global decree allowing Midnight Mass in all parishes. Our Lady of Consolation in Carey held a New Year service from 11:00 p m December 31, 1949 to 1:00 a m January 1, 1950 led by Rev Ronald Pregliasco with Rev Fidelis Van Draemel delivering the sermon.
