A 1100-pound baby was born early New Year morning to Mrs Dorothy Clouse at Memorial Hospital Fremont. The child’s mother is Mrs Char lene Alvina Clouse with the father Charles A Clouse. The family, previously near Clyde, now resides with Mrs Clouse’s parents Mr and Mrs J W Iutz east of Cavey. The baby weighed about 9 pounds at birth and joined six other children in the household.

Carey F F A Chapter Names Banquet Committees

The Ca rey F F A Chapter held a meeting in the high school agriculture room selecting committees for the F F A banquet. Harold Musgrave and Donald Reinhart join decorating while Francis Hewitt and Eugene Liming are on invitations. John Baker was chosen to represent the chapter at the Leadership Conference during farmers week in Columbus. Walter Jones and Earl Caudill were picked for the parliamentary procedure contest set for January 21 at the high school. Refreshments followed, and the next meeting is February 7.

The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Searfoss will be observed Sunday January 8 1939 at their home southwest of Wharton with a noon family dinner, open house 2 to 5 and 7 to 9. Ice Causes Three Auto Accidents Near Carey

Ice and snow on streets and highways last week caused three automobile accidents in and near Carey. A 1938 Plymouth owned by F. H. Hodge of Newark skidded north of Carey on Route 23 and plunged into a ditch. A 1934 Buick driven by C. V. Fellers of Findlay was badly damaged when struck by a Ford driven by John Guttenberg north of Carey on Dow Street. A 1937 Pontiac owned by Chas McClellan of the Route 23 and 224 intersection was sideswiped near Fostoria Saturday afternoon. No injuries reported. all cars towed to Cy's Garage, Carey.

E E Gottfried of Upper Sandusky named manager of the Carey Wyandot County Farm Bureau Cooperative branch. He assumed charge Monday of the business formerly Carey Mill and Elevator Co, now leased by the association. Gottfried is brother of Walter Gottfried of east of Carey.

Wyandot County Fair dates set for 1939 in Upper Sandusky

Wyandot County Agricultural Society fixes September 12 13 14 15 for the 1939 county fair at a Saturday Upper Sandusky meeting. Officers were reelected including Dennis Bloom president and Ivan Matteson secretary who declined to resign but was reelected. Matteson praised the 1938 fair highlighting 4 H clubs schools F F A groups and Boy Scout parade. He noted 24 years of attendance at board meetings and commended the board for an outstanding educational and entertaining fair with high quality exhibits and records.
