Band Wagon Operetta at Public School Tonight

The junior high presents the operetta Phe Band Wagon directed by Mr. Holloway with Miss Finley and Miss Herbage assisting. Cast includes Eddie Smith from Buffalo and Dick Hayman among many others. synopsis shows band and glee club clash at Memorial hall with mixed events and a lighthearted outcome. In sports, Carey defeats Sycamore 34 to 22 as Heck leads with 18 points, while the B team loses 14 to 8. The Blue and White game featured strong defense and improved offense.

A 12 member delegation from the Carey Methodist church attended the area convention of the Methodist Episcopal and Methodist Protestant churches in Toledo for forenoon and afternoon sessions. The Methodist Sunday school young men’s class sets a fourth Tuesday meeting on January 24 with a 12:30 dinner, then a program and recreation. Hayden Fouts chairs the program committee with C. G. Funeral for Carey man killed in lime plant tunnel

W L Musgrave died Friday morning at the National Lime and Stone Co plant when a load fell from overhead in the tunnel used by the dinkey engine. His son Ralph identified the body, and funeral services were held at Memorial Evangelical Church with burial in Huston cemetery. He was aged 48 and survived by his wife Bessie, three children, his mother, four sisters, one brother, and a wide circle of friends.
