Sudden death follows heart attack of Joseph Collet
Joseph Collet, age 49, died after a heart attack at his home on Friday while in the yard with his son Isadore. The blaze on the roof prompted a quick attempt to extinguish it. Collet collapsed returning to the entrance hall. He leaves a widow Susan Elford Collet and son Isadore, plus a large extended family. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Consolation church with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Men Visit Columbus To Seek Bus Route Permit
Twenty five men led by H Elerding and C F Sutter visited the Interstate Commerce Commission in Columbus on Friday to press Mang Bros request for permission to operate a Carey to Toledo bus line. A speeding auto and an A C and Y locomotive collided near W Findlay street crossing, killing 17 year old Jack Lowery and injuring others. The high school vocational agriculture class on a field trip to a Grover Hile sale were aboard, led by Truman Romig. Passengers Jack Lowery Edward Fox John Myers were among the youths. Lowery died at Goff funeral home. Myers and Fox survived with severe injuries.

Veteran Civil War comrade killed in rainy Columbus collision
Joseph Olds Gregg aged 89 of 1156 Franklin avenue was struck by a car on State street near Sixth during a heavy rainstorm. Rev Lewis P Speaker of First English Lutheran church drove the car. Gregg died at St Francis hospital. Another veteran friend, Rev Howard B Westervelt, was killed in a prior traffic accident.
