High School Social Event Wins Prizes and Honors
The term’s first school social featured dancing singing and games with Rob ert McDaniel and Mazie Fleck winning automobile guessing prizes. Lucille Kurtz and Mr Schuchardt won cake walk, ice cream cake and cocoa were served, and Austin Walter was elected honorary football captain receiving the captain’s letter. At the PTA meeting the Girls Glee Club performed three numbers. A playlet was shown and a silver collection raised 16 dollars. Joseph Vaughn dies after long illness in Carey
Joseph Vaughn 72 retired farmer of Carey died Monday evening at 8 40 at his home on Wir rele Street following years of ill health since Christmas. Born January 24 1858 in Milford Indiana he married Estella Gander in 1884. Survived by six children and a grandson Ted Vaughn. Funeral at Our Lady of Consolation Church with interment in St. Marys Cemetery.
