Carey high school students prepare for Northwestern Ohio band festival in Upper Sandusky on April 30 with ten schools attending. The girls glee club practices the Tulip Time chorus for the spring operetta to be staged in the auditorium. The year book work advances toward completion as pictures go to engravers. A class B sectional basketball tournament is set for March 4 and 5 at Carey high school gym with ten teams from Hancock Seneca Wyandot and Hardin counties plus St Wendelin Calvert and others.

Funeral of Jacob Wonder at Methodist Church

Wickham Sentenced to At Least Twenty Years for Morral Bank Robbery
Robert Jo Wickham 36 of Carey received a sentence of not less than 20 years in the Ohio penitentiary for robbing the Morral bank of 26260 on July 10. Judge George B Scofield presided in Ipcom common pleas court. Jury recommendation urged mercy, but the omission of a mercy clause would have required life imprisonment. Wickham was taken to Columbus to begin serving.

Mrs Eleanor Crawford Shull widow of I L Shull died last Thursday at her Findlay home after nearly a year of illness. Born Sept 7 1853 in Amanda township Hancock County she lived on a Vanlue Carey farm before moving to Carey 17 years ago. Survived by husband two children T W Shull and Anna Sutter, one brother Wayne Crawford, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral at Lee church officiated by Rev Clouser and Rev Esterley with burial in Lee cemetery.
