The Friday basketball game was canceled and moved to Tuesday. A Tuesday pep meeting practiced new cheers while the religious chapel session occurred Monday. The mixed chorus welcomed male voices, tuberculosis skin tests target seniors, and Miss Robinson resigned from history and physical education. Wentling now leads girls classes with Mrs. George Newhard teaching others.
Much interest has been shown in the Increase Campaign now in progress at the Methodist Bible school. Each class will be given a week to show the rest of the school what they can do to boost attendance. The Unity class led by Mrs W Z Campbell did well last Sunday and the class taught by Miss Arlene Longanecker is expected to perform strongly next Sunday.
The American Legion Auxiliary hosts a card party on Thursday evening February 10 invitations extend to Legion members. The organizing committee includes Mrs. H. L. Pahl chairwoman, with Mrs August Windau Mrs Russell Gott fried Mrs Clarence Suber Mrs J A Vaughn Mrs Seth Opp Mrs Ralph Pieracinni Mrs Harry For Mrs Elmer Mesemer Mrs Lawrence Bland Mrs David Lasley and Mrs TM M. Miss Mary Jo Kirkwood daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Kirkwood has earned a second lieutenant commission in the United States Army Nurses Corps. She received orders to report February 15 for assignment to Bil ding General Hospital Fort Benjamin Harrison Indiana for duty.
Mr and Mrs John Fredritz of north of Carey report their son Henry has been promoted to sergeant. He recently earned an Army good conduct award and a medal as expert marksman while serving with the 394th Infantry at Camp Maxey Texas.
The Wesleyan Guild of the Methodist Sunday school will meet at the home of Mrs. C. C. Thome Monday evening February 14. Mrs. Irene Bowers Mrs. Wallace Dible and Mrs J A Schira will assist the hostesses.
Wyandot County opens its tax books for the collection of December real estate tax. Chase Martin, county treasurer, announces the process with Karl F. Kraus serving as deputy treasurer.
Beatrice A Bishop, manager of the Marion field office of the Social Security Board, will speak at the Carey Municipal Building at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday February 15.
Carl E Turnbell of Carey Ohio matches his pulling ability as both undergo Navy flight pre training at the College of Wooster. Turnbell a Carey High School 1942 graduate and son of Mr and Mrs H B Turnbell lives at 632 E Findlay St Carey. Leonard Bradman trains as radio gunner with Liberator bombers at McCook Nebraska son of Mr and Mrs Leo C Brodman Route One Carey and Salem High School graduate.
Congressman Frederick C Smith of Marion announces from his Washington office that he will again run for Congress from Ohio's Eighth District. He says the people know his record and if returned will continue the same policy and efforts as in the past.
The C. L. of C. meeting scheduled for Monday evening is postponed to February 14. A business session will be held, followed by a social hour.
One hundred and four selectees head to Columbus today for pre induction exams. Those passing join the Wyandot county induction pool or are classified 4 F. Carey residents listed include Harold Platt Loren Anson Shu maker John Robert Emmons Devil James Stapley Clarence William Thornton and others.
Annette Fulnam 9, daughter of Mr and Mrs Willis Putnam, west of Carey, fractured the small bone in her left wrist after slipping from a school bar. The 3rd grader in the West building was being transferred between buses at the Col Crawford bulletin during the accident.
Mrs A J Ruehle thanks friends for letters cards fruit and flowers during her recent illness and for other kindnesses shown.

Cpl Solomon L Richardson has been promoted to sergeant in an announcement at the Myrtle Beach bombing range South Carolina where he is stationed. He enlisted July 17 1942 and began in Fort Benjamin Harrison Indiana with basic training at Miami Beach Florida. He trained at Seymour Johnson Field Goldsboro North Carolina and studied A 2 V dive bombers at Curtiss Wright plant St Louis Missouri. He served with a dive bomber squadron at Key Field Meridian Mississippi then Congaree air field Columbia South Carolina. From there he went to Burns Army air base Burns Oregon for maneuvers and to Myrtle Beach for bombing maneuvers. While stationed at Myrtle Beach he completed two weeks training on a special plane at Tampa Florida.
At a Carey board of education meeting Ray Tracy was elected to fill the unexpired term of Capt H K Van Buren of the U S Army Medical Corps. Van Buren was re-elected in 1942 to serve until 1945, and Tracy will be sworn in March 15.
The Dorcas Bible class of the Methodist Sunday school will hold a social Thursday evening at 7 39 oclock at the home of Mrs C L Kelley on W Findlay street Assisting hostesses will be Mrs Rose Diller and Mrs George Gardner Mrs L Offenbacher will have charge of the devotionals.

Cpl Harold L Logsdon and Cpl Herman J Logsdon, identical twins from Carey, have spent a year in the Army. They completed a naval air corps technical training course in Chicago and tied for top in the final exam. They are now in Jacksonville Florida continuing advanced training.
Robert H Werner, son of Mr and Mrs C C Werner, north of Carey, has been promoted from private first class to corporal at Goodfellow Field Army Air Forces Pilot School basic in San Angelo Texas.

Christ Lutheran church marks its 85th anniversary with a mortgage burning and potluck supper on Thursday at 6 PM in the parish house. The congregation surpassed its $5000 fund goal for debt payoff and future remodeling with leadership from Howard E. Snyder and Rev. Wade H. Koons.
The Carey Farmers Sportsmen club met at the Carey Moose hall with eighty members and guests present. Officers elected were President John Brown, Vice President Lawrence Orians, and Secretary Treasurer Glen Snyder, replacing outgoing president Paul Heck and secretary treasurer Harry Myers. Conservation officials C J Kimmell and B L Miller spoke on current issues and programs, and a fish fry followed the business session.
Wing Commander A e George Corron Jr, a class graduate on February 5 at Ellington Field Texas, arrives Monday to spend time with his parents Mr and Mrs George Corron Sr. His wife and relatives plan to stay in Carey and Marion until he is located in Tampa Florida.
