The school yearbook staff reports most editing complete with final draft close to printer. A new sophomore adds to enrollment and coverage notes weather disruptions to Monday and Tuesday sessions. The Caryatid price rises to 1.25 dollars and a freshman class chapel was presented by Bergman and Fisher with a broadcast station scene and several student performers involved.

Revival at Beech Grove Church Near Carey

Beech Grove United Brethren Church five miles southwest of Carey hosts a revival begun last Sunday with ministers from nearby churches assisting. Soulwinner quartet from St Pauls Evangelical Findlay performed Wednesday. Rev L H Naumann preached, and Rev Raymond L Bush of Sebring will speak Monday and Tuesday evenings next week. Bush is a longtime missionary evangelist and radio preacher. The services continue nightly for two weeks and are open to town residents and visitors. Committee.

Fires Extinguished In Car And Truck Incidents

The Carey fire department answered Sunday evening to extinguish a blaze in the motor of Ernie Risner s automobile parked in front of the Galt hotel with only small damage. Tuesday morning at 11 o clock the department fought a truck fire on E Findlay street owned by John Hall of Mansfield en route to Findlay with slight damage and local repairs.

John R Moll a former Carey resident now at Kollmeir convalescent home 218 Broadway Findlay celebrated his 90th birthday on February 8. Friends sent many presents though many did not learn of the event until after. The Carey Times joins in extending best wishes.

Navy Specialist Adams Qualifies as Firefighting Instructor

Sir Edward S. Adams, who entered the U S Navy in October 1943, has been rated a specialist and, after attending a Brooklyn firefighting school, qualified as an instructor on Saturday and awaits assignment. Mrs Adams returned Tuesday from Brooklyn where she had visited her husband since Friday.

Carey Man Promoted to Captain in Bomber Group

The Rev. Martin P. Cellet of Carey Ohio has been promoted from first lieutenant to captain in the European theater. A Franciscan priest and chaplain in the Flying Fortress group, he directs weekly Catholic services, hears confessions, and gives communion before each mission. Cellet, 37, is active with combat crews at the post chapel and provides religious solace after missions. He is one of two chaplains in the group. Father Cellet is the son of Nicholas Cellet and a Mt. St. Francis 1926 graduate who was ordained May 21, 1932. The story notes that of seven crew members who regularly attended services, only one was lost in action.
