Parade of Poetry Opens Fortnightly Club Evening
Mrs. Grover Snyder hosted the Fortnightly Club at East Findlay Street with a dessert before a business meeting. Speaker Mrs. Cloyce Lanning led a Parade of Patriotic Poetry praising the star spangled banner and our forfathers with selections by known and unknown poets and a concluding piece by Mary E. Linton. The meeting was chaired by Mrs. David Myers. The Lakeside Federation continues and plans a 74th Annual Convention July 10-11, 1968. The next gathering will feature Mrs. Ralph Vogel hosting on February 15 with readings by Mrs. George Snyder and Mrs. Lawrence Wenner.

Snowmobile Topic at Carey Kiwanis Meeting
George Snyder spoke at the Carey Kiwanis Monday noon at Bowl-Era Lanes on the Snowmobile's invention and development. Joseph Armand Bombardier, a Canadian, created it around 1940 and its uses span recreation, racing at 75 mph, rescue work, Arctic exploration, and supplying Operation Dew Line. Next week's guest will come from the Harding Area Council of the Boys Scouts.

Car and truck crash at U S 23 and SR 67 north of Upper Sandusky
At 7 a.m. January 25 the Wyandot County Sheriff's Department investigated a two-vehicle collision at the U S 23 and State Route 67 intersection two miles north of Upper Sandusky. Richard F. Dible of Carey drove east on Route 23 and turned right when struck on the right side by Homer Clyde Perks of Fostoria driving a truck. The right side of Dible's car and the left front of Perks's truck sustained extensive damage. no injuries were reported.

Death of Mrs Clara Nachbar at 95 in Findlay
Mrs Clara Alma Nachbar 95 of 334 E Findlay St died 7 30 p m Saturday Feb 3 1968 after two months illness. Born Sept 29 1872 in Adrian Ohio daughter of Daniel and Frances Lerner she married Lawrence Nachbar in 1900 who died in 1947. Survived by daughters Gail Stoll Carey and Opal Morrison Findlay three grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was member of Christ Lutheran Church. Services 2 p m Tuesday at Goff Funeral Home Rev George Cressman officiated with burial at Springs Grove Cemetery.
