Carey School District Expands With Adrian Biz Spring Additions

Carey voters hear about the district growth from Wyandot county and the addition of Springville and Adrian areas. The Carey board notes the district now covers about 8 more square miles increasing the tax base by about half a million dollars. Teachers Edmund Lonsway and Bertha Crumline oversee Springville and Adrian pupils with plans to consolidate next session.

Chapel talent contest at Professor Stover’s School of Frenchnology

In a chapel event at Professor Stover’s School of Frenchnology, Frances Peirce and Charles Heck won the battle of wits with prizes of Sulphureux perfume from Odiferous Perfume Co. Ardine Gottfried spoke on Mardi Gras and Betty Hamler sang My Reverie in French. A restaurant admission correction was announced, and the junior class held a party with dancing and cards at the high school.

Fr Cyprian To leaves Our Lady of Carey seminary today for St Anthony's in Louisville. He will be the assistant to Rev James Hermés while Professors Gauchat and Hertvik fill the vacancy created by his departure at Our Lady of Carey Seminary.

Ohio Conservation Commission adopts seven district offices

The Ohio conservation and natural resources commission approves creating seven district offices to decentralize the Columbus operation. District heads will coordinate game and fish management with farmers and sportsmen, while two representatives from each district join a round table with the state commission. A special meeting for Farmers and Sportsmen Protective association is set for February 8 and a postponed February 13 meeting moved to February 20.

Stork Delivers Three Newborns From Ohio Families

A 66'2 pound son arrived Friday to Dr and Mrs R J Lemons of Carey at White Cross hospital in Columbus. An 8'5 pound son was born January 31 at Mercy hospital to Mr and Mrs Robert Yingling of Tiffin, formerly of Carey, named Richard Martin. A 60 pound son was born last Thursday to Mr and Mrs Sylvester Bingle, named David Roger.

WHKC radio artists from Columbus including Col. Bob French the Buckeye Four with Tommy Knott and the Shively Twing perform Thursday evening February 22 at Carey high school auditorium. The February meeting of the Toledo Findlay ministerial groups of the Evangelical church was held at the local church on Tuesday.
