Pastor Hoists Fortieth Birthday and Namesday Honors
Three events honored Very Rev Paul Vollrath O M C pastor of the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation marking his namesday and 60th birthday. Carey Youth Narrowly Escapes After Stone Slide
Merle Gopmer a 20 year old National Lime and Stone employee was nearly buried when a pile of stone slid while he stood on it to adjust a crusher. Harold Shull Howard Ward and 75 coworkers helped uncover him after two hours of frantic shoveling. He survived with shock bruises and exposure and was taken home by ambulance.
