Dr. H E Wisterman accompanied patients to the Delaware Springs sanitarium where he consulted with Dr George M Laughlin an osteopathic surgeon and president of the Kirksville Missouri college of osteopathy Laughlin will spend two days examining and operating on Ohio patients He is noted for Lorenz bloodless hip dislocation corrections and is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
A New Year’s Eve watch party will be held at the Methodist church for the Sunday school young people classes and their teachers. Paul Sultzbach chairs the entertaining committee with help from Mary Emma Sultzbach. Clifford Pessell and Robert Sultzbach lead the young men and Epworth League, with a refreshment group including several named members.
The C K of O will host a card party and social at their hall on Vance Street Thursday evening December 31. Cards start promptly at 8 o'clock. Members families and friends are invited.
Mrs F Kitzler learned of the death of her brother-in-law L M Nevin. He died Monday at his home in Oklahoma City.

Worthy matron Mrs G M Kurtz and Worthy patron Howard Snyder. associate matron Mrs Ray Beebe and associate patron Everett Koch. Visitors from Akron Upper Sandusky Findlay Vanlue attended. A music program followed with solos and duets by local singers and pianists.
The Luther League hosts its annual New Years Eve party on Thursday evening at the parsonage beginning at 8 30 oclock. It is traditional for the youths to welcome the New Year and parents should not worry if they return after 1982. Arrangements are led by Margaret Pahl Susanne Hoff Eldon Dame Gladys Kirkwood Glen Williams and Rev Paul R Clouser.

President Truman Romi, first vice president HBO Fetters, second vice president Richard Frederick, treasurer P Bimerne, district trustee Rev Paul R Clouser, and directors E B Kurtz W L Arnholt Fr Ed win Henry Stief Harry Heck H EB Keller and G M Kurtz were named. A program for the new year was outlined at the meeting.
Free Scoarse plans to relocate his barber shop from the Galt House to the room across the street that was formerly Emerine's meat market and is owned by Mrs Mary Jacob of Tiffin.
This afternoon at 2 30 a free showing of Tom Sawyer for children 13 years old and under. All kids must arrive on time as there will be only one performance.

A meeting for all interested in reopening the Vanlue bank will be held at the I O O F hall in Vanlue Saturday afternoon at 2 00. Attendees seek to organize support and plan steps toward resuming banking services for the community.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs Nannie Bliss of Crawford who died Christmas Day in Conneautville. Interment followed at the Crawford cemetery. she was 82 and a Civil War veteran’s widow. Surviving children include Addie Wheeler and Eva Schuckert, with many relatives and a long connection to the Crawford church.
Miss Orel Bayless daughter of Mr and Mrs M C Bayless of south of Vanlue became the bride of Dale Robison son of Mr and Mrs C E Robison of southwest of town. The single ring ceremony was performed by Rev Herbert Maurer at his Findlay home at 3 30. The couple will honeymoon to Huntington and Fort Wayne before planning to set up housekeeping on Mr Robison's father’s farm southwest of Carey.
The Carey Farmers Community club held its regular meeting Monday evening at the Moose hall with discussions and refreshments. The next meeting is scheduled for January 25, 1938. The program committee includes Romig Ruehle and Sausser. the fed committee comprises Wenting Wangler and Weainger.
Howard Bish of Findlay underwent an operation at Columbus hospital for removal of a kidney. Mrs Bish and Mrs Philip Horton of Arkadelphia Ark were with him during the operation. He was the senior Bish of Findlay street.

The community mourns the death of six year old Robert Edgar Smiley Jr. following a three month illness from paralysis after diphtheria. He was born February 26 1925 in Carey and survived by his parents Robert and Iva Inman Smiley and multiple grandparents and relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Inman home conducted by Rev Jo W Sesar and burial took place in Wharton cemetery with four uncles as pallbearers.
Figures from Postmaster Herbert Newhard show a drop in Christmas mail at the focal post office from December 16 to 24. About 235 packages were mailed here while outgoing mail declined during the week, with two stamps stood sold during the period.
A seven year old girl, Vrs James Wears, died Monday morning at home on the Weaks farm in Alena. The girl formerly lived here.
