Scott McKinnon died suddenly at about 9 30 last evening at his home on East South street following a heart attack. He was 80. His wife and three sons survive R D McKinnon of Bucyrus Ira McKinnon and Ralph McKinnon of Carey. Funeral arrangements are not yet set as the family seeks contact with a Lima grandson recently married in Wisconsin.

John Slotterbeck of S Patterson Street reports the death of his niece Mrs Herman Ruter in Toledo on Sunday morning. Cause listed as heart trouble. Mrs Ruter was born November 20 1878 on the Slotterbeck farm near Carey and was daughter of Jacob and Ella Slotterbeck. She is survived by her husband one daughter two sons and a brother Harry Slotterbeck of Detroit.

Obituary of Mrs. Mary Harris of Carey Springfield
Mrs. Mary Harris of Glen avenue died after a three week illness at her grandson Theodore Dargin's home in Springfield. Born Mary Kessler in Upper Sandusky on June 27 1864 she married Theodore Harris 58 years ago and survived by sons F G Harris Toledo and G C Harris Bellefontaine and a daughter Mrs Dorothy Hannaway Carey with several grandchildren. Interment was in Spring Grove cemetery after funeral services at the local Methodist church.

Fatal auto crash kills 16 year old Henry Horr near Piqua
Henry Horr aged 16 son of Mr and Mrs Cool Horr and grandson of Dr Henry Beebe of Sidney died after a car wreck near Piqua while en route to Dayton for Christmas shopping. His sister Virginia Horr was badly injured, a friend also harmed. Funeral services were held in Sidney.

A gang that struck Carey and nearby towns Friday night or Saturday morning blew open the Farmers Elevator safe using nitro glycerine and got 40.15. The same trio may have burglarized the Mt Blanchard elevator and Snyder Lumber company. Police traced the car to Findlay and found three men with evidence at the scenes.

Christmas program at Christ Lutheran church delightfully presented
The Christ Lutheran church auditorium hosted a Sunday evening program by kindergarten through junior Sunday school pupils aided by the junior choir. The diverse line included songs such as Hark The Herald Angels Sing and Silent Night, recitations, duets, a trio, and an acrostic by fourteen juniors, with Mrs. Constien chairing, MAe Kauble directing the junior choir, and Elsie Howard at the organ.
