Alexander McDonald Dies After Fall at County Infirmary
Alexander McDonald died following a Monday fall that led to paralysis. He neared his 74th birthday and is survived by three sons Clarence of Akron Bruce of Oregon and William of south of this city. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon with interment at Dunn Cemetery near McCutchenville.

Berne reports German guards at Landshut prison camp seized Sam Browne belts from American officers. They shredded the belts and converted them into shoelaces and other items, returning them to the Americans in an unusual recycling gesture.

Grant munition plant to halt shell production
