Dozens of hunters across Ohio bagged deer on opening day December 12. Notable catches include Francis Ritter with a 128-pound doe east of Ty Mochtee, Oscar Twining Jr with a 200-pound 10-point buck, Clyde Burks with a 26-point 300-pound buck near Cadiz, and Jack Naegaert with a 140-pound doe. The statewide season ran for the first time in 56 years, ending Saturday at 5 p.m.
