O Holy Child of Bethlehem is presented with heavenly hosts adored and Bethany scenes. The poem moves from Galilee to Calvary highlighting Christ’s love, sorrow, and redemptive power. Ebenezer Sherman Oakley is named at the end as the author.
Mrs Angeline Bristoll died at her Wharton home on Sunday morning at 8 45 due to complications. Born Angeline Yentzer July 20 1865 she was 58 years 5 months 4 days old. She married Bert Beryl Bristoll December 28 1885 and had four children two of whom survive. Funeral Tuesday at 1 30 p m at Wharton Methodist church with Rev J D Darling and Rev Guy Miller officiating. Interment in Wharton cemetery. Attendees included numerous local relatives.
Friday evening the W B A of the Maccabees elected officers headed by Commander Mrs George Perkins and past commander Mrs J T Stombaugh. Other posts include lieutenant commander Mrs W J Whefferson and secretary roles with Mrs D J Humbert and Mrs S W Pahl. Officers to be installed at the annual rally in Findlay January 3 during a joint meeting with Pindlay Carey Fostoria and McComb branches.
The W C T U held its regular session at Mrs D A Cole’s home on Friday afternoon. Mrs Snyder, Mrs Ranger, Miss Gilli land and Mrs Bradley presented readings after Bible verses were read during roll call. The meeting closed with the W T U benediction.
In Columbus Mr and Mrs H J Stillberger stayed from Saturday to Monday. Mrs Stillberger underwent an examination at Grant Hospital ahead of an operation for removal of an inward poisonous goitre. She will be operated on soon. The family is staying with Mr and Mrs Laude Johnson while arrangements are made.
The Carey Times will not be issued until Thursday afternoon due to Christmas falling on Tuesday. Subscribers with home delivery will not receive the paper until Friday.
A 9 pound daughter born to Mr and Mrs Jeff Reiter near Frenchtown on Saturday. A 10 pound daughter born to Mr and Mrs Frank Weaver Friday morning. The girl was christened Virginia Mae with Miss Emma Weaver of Upper Sandusky and Clarence Kinn as sponsors on Sunday.
An Ohio family recounts a cross country car trip with Forest and Mary Dame hearing from Denver Hart. They describe camps from Indiana to Arizona, road conditions, detours, and friendly strangers, plus river floods, vehicle troubles, and a brief Mesa stop as 1923 ends.

Otto W. Pflueger returns from a round the world voyage aboard the S S Karonga arriving Boston December 16 and reaching Carey by Sunday evening. He spent four years in the Philippine Islands as chief of the Division of Investigation of the Bureau of Forestry and Forester in charge of the School of Forestry. He is a University of the Philippines professor and Yale Forest School graduate who taught at Ohio State and served as a sergeant in the 55th Engineers in France. He will study with East forest schools and U S Forest Service in Washington before sailing for the Islands again in May via Japan and China.

Mr and Mrs Charles Dame and son Oftville and the Hart Brothers arrived safely at Santa Anna California. They are staying with a cousin while deciding on a permanent California home. The Hart Brothers plan to return home in spring via the northern route through national parks.
The Solomon Myers house on South Street occupied by Joseph Renshhler and family was sold to Roy Kirkwood of Forest. The Peter Krupp property on North Street occupied by Joe Silverstein and family was bought by Roy Walters of Worello Street. Both deals were handled through the New Hard Real Estate Co.
The Crawford chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star will install its 1924 officers this Friday evening. Mrs F A Galbroner will be installed as officer. A prior gathering of past worthy matrons and worthy patrons will host an indoor pot luck picnic.
Emil Deckler, a German immigrant now working for E. F Thome on a local farm east of town, received a letter from his parents last Friday that required 80 billion marks in postage.

A closing out sale of winter goods is announced by GEO W HICKLE at Sully. Items include winter underwear sweaters coats woolen socks hats caps and woolen shirts offered to meet winter needs.
A community event at the Upper school house 47 miles southwest of Carey features an entertainment program, hex social, and fishing pond. Ruby Criger teaches.
The garment factory resumed operations Monday after a two month and a half shutdown. The full force is expected to be on duty within the next two weeks.
Work on the northeast church moves forward as Tuesday saw the roof I-beams set in place.
