About 130 relatives attended a 2:30 to 5 pm open house as a 3 tier wedding cake and yellow chrysanthemums decorated the setting. The couple, aged 74 and 75, reside near Carey with children Rollo, Ruth Kemmerly, Henry, and Lawrence Binani, plus several grandchildren, siblings, and other relatives. Their 1901 Christ Lutheran ceremony was conducted by Rev. S J Taylor.

Lewis Hawk director of instrumental music in Carey Public Schools attended the Ohio Music Education Association state convention at Ohio State University from November 29 to December 1. He serves on the OMEA state board of control and is president of the second district, spanning eight counties. The OMEA unites Ohio music educators and is linked with the Music Educators National Conference and the Ohio Education Association. The organization oversees state and district music contests and projects promoting music education for teachers and students.

Renewal of Carey's Post Office Lease with Ziebarth
Negotiations for a larger and improved Carey post office were completed by J E Ziebarth and U S postal department representatives. Ziebarth will construct a 30 by 40 foot rear addition with loading dock and canopy doubling floor space, add lighting and heating, install 15 new boxes, and the postal department will supply equipment. The 10 year lease starts after completion with annual rent of 1320 dollars plus water charges. Work to begin when weather permits.
