Hi Y Christmas Service at Warey High School

The Hi Y club of Warey High presents a Christmas program Sunday at 8:00 p m in the school auditorium. The program features a pageant with roles for Spirit of Bethlehem Inn Keeper Angels Magi and the Holy Family plus readings and hymns led by Rev Wade H Koons and Vernon Huston Jr. with Mr Mulholland as adviser. It marks the 20th year of Hi Y Christmas service led by Mr Mulholland who previously advised Cadiz high school students.

Putnam Honorably Discharged After 32 Months Service

PFC Robert S. Putnam, son of Mrs. Corinne Putnam, was honorably discharged December 4 at Indiantown Gap Pa after 32 months in the U S Army. He served 26 months in Africa and Italy and the European theater with the 7th Army, took part in the invasion of Southern France, where he was wounded August 28 1944. He was wounded again October 30 in France. He earned the ETO ribbons good conduct Victory Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster and four battle stars.

Cecil Stark Receives Honorable Discharge in Toledo

Cecil Stark 2/c ship's fitter was discharged Friday November 30 in Toledo after 28 months with the Seabees. He trained at Camp Peary Camp Endicott Gulfport and Port Hueneme and spent 19 months welding on the Marshall Islands. He earned the American Defense Pacific War Victory ribbons and is the son of the late Mr and Mrs Theodore Stark of Carey. His wife Flo Coldiron has lived in Carey. they bought a home in Tiffin where he works as a welder for Hanson Clutch and Machinery Co.

Cecil J Stapley Home After Navy Honorable Discharge

Cecil J Stapley Fireman 1/c received an honorable discharge from the navy on November 4 at the Toledo separation center. He served 18 months on the transport Unimak visiting ports in Nicaragua Colombia the Pacific and Europe. His wife and four sons Vincent James Richard and Charles live on West street. He has resumed work at the National Lime and Stone Co plant.

Carey Boy Scout Court of Honor Reminder

On Thursday evening December 20 a court of honor will be held in the Boy Scout room. Eighteen boys are eligible for advancement. All parents are invited to attend. Carey High Basketball Faces Setback After Player Suspensions

Carey High School star John De Amicis earned honorable mention on the International News All Ohio high school team, marking a rare statewide recognition for a local athlete. The basketball season hit a jolt as three varsity players were dropped for training rules infractions, with Bill Yingling and Armand Orians promoted from the reserves to fill the vacancies created by the suspensions of Bob Donelson Don Wedge and Red Snowberger.

PFC Richard P. Yates Serves On Cebu Island Station

Private First Class Richard P. Yates, wife in Carey Ohio, serves with the 3347th Quartermaster Truck Company in Cebu as a dispatcher. He joined in August 1944, trained at Columbus, overseas duty since March 15 1945, stationed on Leyte and Cebu, previously a senior mechanic at Patterson Field. He is authorized Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with two stars and the Philippine Liberation ribbon.

Gerald R Eingle Receives Navy Honorable Discharge

G M 2/e Gerald R. Eingle, son of Mr and Mrs Forest Bingle of Newhard street, has been honorably discharged after 40 months in the navy. He served 28 months on a PC boat in the Atlantic convoy duty and 12 months in the Pacific on a rocket boat crew. He participated in Okinawa and earned Asiatic Pacific and American Area ribbons, the Victory medal and one battle star.

S/Sgt Robert McKinnon Home On Furlough

S/Sgt. Robert McKinnon son of Mr and Mrs Iran McKinnon arrived in Carey Friday from Lunken air base Cincinnati on a 45 day furlough. He is an aircraft mechanic in the army air corps transport command with 33 months service and has served in French Morocco French Algiers and Egypt. He will return to Cincinnati after his furlough where he expects to be discharged.

Bates Receives Army Discharge At Camp Atterbury

Donald Bates, son of Mr and Mrs W E Bates of Fostoria and former Carey resident, was honorably discharged from the U S Army Medical Corps November 30 at Camp Atterbury Indiana. He served three years two months with the 36th Evacuation Hospital in New Guinea the Philippines and Japan and earned Philippine Liberation Asiatic Pacific Victory and good conduct medals. He and his wife and daughter Donna Louise live with Mrs Bates parents Mr and Mrs W Muliholand.

Local Soldier Wilbert Bohlen Discharged at Randolph Field

Cpl. Wilbert Bohlen son of Mr and Mrs Fred Bohlen Glen Avenue was discharged from the U S Army Air Corps on November 6 at Randolph Field Texas. He served three years stateside and three years on the Aleutian Islands with the 2543rd Army Air Force Base Unit. He earned the Asiatic Pacific and American Theater ribbons the Victory Medal the Good Conduct Medal and one battle star. Farm Bureau Christmas Party Planned in Upper Sandusky

The Northwest district of the Wyandot County Farm Bureau will hold a Christmas party Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock over Wood's restaurant in Upper Sandusky.
