School News notes the grade operetta will be performed on December 21 with the student body encouraged to attend and support the performers. The cast and further details will be printed next week. Chapel Monday morning featured the orchestra in charge and the students sang Holy Holy Holy. Persis Peirce read the Scripture and led the Lord's Prayer in unison. the orchestra selections were praised as fine and interesting.

Mrs. Frank Kinsinger holds two parchment deeds dating 1827 and 1836. The 1827 deed signed by John Quincy Adams conveyed 17 acres of the refugee tract in Chillicothe to William Hull, with A I Donelson as land agent. The 1836 deed signed by Andrew Jackson’s secretary conveyed 160 acres to Timothy Sheppard of Bucyrus, Barton A. Brown as land agent. Sheppard was Kinsinger’s great grandfather. Hull grant numbered 850 and Sheppard grant 12,404.

With Leo Courtad retiring December 1 from rural route No 1, Carey now has two rural routes. O P Presler serves Route 1 east of US 23, while Route 2 combines west of Route 23 and former Route 3 with J L Yohe as carrier until December 15 when he retires. Arch Donelson substitutes Route 2 mail due to illness. Route 1 runs 65 miles and Route 2 about 60 miles. Sorting begins 6:30 am, leaving at 8:30 am, with return around 2:30 pm or later.
