Over the past week Carey firemen responded to three alarms but did not extinguish real fires. A Saturday 12 10 p m call to the Hosafros farm found an intentional blaze. A Monday training run targeted a Glen Avenue house at the request of owner Joe Kadlee and a Harold Yost farm call was cancelled as the family put out the fire themselves.

Wyandot County sheriff's deputies investigated a minor two vehicle crash at 3 p.m. Sunday on US 23 a half mile southeast of Carey. Richard E. Bray 20 of Findlay driving a 1960 Ford attempted a north turn while David B. Rogers 23 of Columbus drove a 1959 Oldsmobile attempting to pass. No injuries and minor damage to both vehicles.
