Village drives gains new look with garage repaint

The village garage housing utility vehicles received a fresh coat of paint by village employees, improving the town’s appearance along with the paving of E South Street in front of the High School. Clyde Beatty 3 Ring Circus Planned for Carey

The Clyde Beatty Corp will bring a three ring circus to Carey on September 5 for two performances sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. Charles Bees said the show has no rides or gambling and is family entertainment. Proceeds fund Carey community projects.

Clarence Reinhart and Lee Callahan won the Tuesday event beating Henry Pieracini and Irma Smith in the final frame. Martha Reinhart and Harold Shiley won the consolation over R. Wyandot County reports its sixth traffic death as Douglas Stewart Jr of Lincoln Nebraska died on arrival after his car was struck by a C and O Sportsman train north of Upper Sandusky. Grandfather Walter Kail, 76, is in satisfactory condition with a scalp injury.

Carey man faces charges for property damage case

James Leo Trausch 19 of Carey was charged with maliciously destroying property and fined 50 dollars plus 8.60 dollars costs and 30 days in jail, all suspended if he restores damaged property. Costs are due Sept 16 1964. Officer William Swartz led the case. Minor Vehicle Mishap on West Street Causes Light Damage

Jerry B. Walter 30 of 509 West Street drove a 1963 truck north on West Street near S. Vance to yield for a car and hit a parked car driven by Eleanor M. Thomas 43 of Bellaire. The left rear fender and bumper of the parked car sustained about 125 in damage. the truck had no damage. The incident was reported to the Police Department about 1 hour 45 minutes later.

Pump Field Obsolete Submersibles Prompt Bids

At Well Field A west of Carey a pulled pump proved faulty and obsolete. A pamphlet on submersible pumps circulated to council. Mr. Dunn noted pumps motors and driveshafts are obsolete and warned two or three could fail. Rebuilt pumps cost 150 to 450 dollars. Old motors were 30 h.p. New units would be 10 or 12 h.p. and pull faster. Bids to be sought for submersible pumps.
