August Pilgrimage draws largest Shrine crowd to Carey

Orie M. Stroub 55 died Monday at his home 284 Ballentine avenue after a two year illness. Funeral at 1230 Tuesday from the home, with services at St Pauls Evangelical church west of Carey. Burial in church cemetery. Born in Amanda township Hancock county in 1873 he married Maud Parkin in 1894. Auto crashes into fire plug at lime plant. water shut off
Friday at about 1 00 am an automobile driven by Joe Bakies with six companions collided with a fire plug at the lime plant. The car was wrecked and the plug broken off at the ground but no injuries occurred. Water supply in the northeast part of town was shut off from 1 00 am to 2 00 pm while a new plug was installed.
