James H Starr Dies Suddenly at La Jolla Cal
James H Starr died of a heart ailment at La Jolla California on Monday August 6 1928 aged 70. He had recently undergone an operation in San Diego and had been summering in La Jolla at the Colonial hotel. Starr was a prominent Centralia Missouri businessman longtime Bank of Centralia director and Chicago and Alton Railroad director. He is survived by his son Chester G Starr Bloomington Illinois and his wife Harriet Lucinda Gibbs Starr who died in 1919. Funeral held at his Findlay Street residence with burial in Spring Grove cemetery.

Attempted Hold Up Near Findlay Street Report
Saturday evening about 11:00 Mrs. F H Frederick and her son Judson faced an attempted purse snatching as a man grabbed the purse and tossed them to the ground near Findlay street.
