Carey’s Swimming Pool Adds In-House Water Lab

Carey’s Pool installs a complete water analysis laboratory in the filters plant to test pool water four times daily. The primary aim is to ensure perfectly safe swimming water and inform patrons of the exact water contents on request. If water quality is not safe, the pool will close.

Two Months Pool Use Totals and Attendance Peak

Over the first two operation months 211015 persons swam at the pool. Season passes used by 5983 swimmers and 5032 paid 35 and 20 cents each. Volume included 162 masses with 37 family passes 84 adults and 41 juniors. An average of 174 swimmers per day with a high of 475 on Sunday June 25. The pool closed only 8 days.

Tiffin Printer Dies After Car Rolls Over

George Simonis, 57, a Tiffin printer and pressman, was crushed to death at 10 55 am Saturday when his car skidded on loose gravel and overturned near Ashland. He was en route to Akron to fetch his wife visiting her sister who is recovering from surgery.

Fire destroys Packard at Ward's Marathon Station

A 19 46 Packard sedan owned by Veronica Brennan of Dayton was badly burnt Tuesday afternoon in a flash fire at Ward's Marathon Station at Findlay and Patterson Streets. Firemen say gasoline sprayed around the area after the car’s gas tank was filled, but the cause of ignition remains undetermined. The interior of the car was ruined and the exterior damaged. the owner was visiting for a pilgrimage and planned to return home.

Gunther Family Completes 9000 Mile Western Trip

Mr and Mrs Samuel Gunther and daughters Sandra and Glenda returned home after a three month motor journey through 15 states.
