Carey High School Sets Enrollment for 1947 48 Term

On August 2 pupils in grades 8 through 12 must report to the high school to complete schedule cards. A split August 27 timetable assigns ninth through twelfth graders to one hour slots for schedules and lockers. September 2 first day has 8:55 a.m. reporting for all grades with seventh graders2nd report to rooms 23 and 24.

Wyandot County Petitions Flag Township and School Seats

One hundred twenty two candidates filed petitions with the Wyandot County Board of Elections before August 6 for township and municipal offices and school boards. In Crawford township John Fox seeks reelection as trustee joined by Dean Wright. C C Thome seeks clerk reelection and N J Brown for constable. Carey public schools elect two board members with D J Frazier seeking reelection and D W Weber filing to succeed Dr L Treece whose term ends this year.

Mrs John Kloepfer Injured in Tuesday Collision

Mrs John F Kloepfer 66 of Findlay sustained a severe head bump at 12 50 p m Tuesday in a two car crash in front of 1112 E Sandusky street. The accident involved her husband driving into the driveway and James E Waltermath of the Findlay Veterans Trailer Camp. Police Officer Clyde Cramer investigated.

Livestock Judging At Ohio State Fair

Livestock judging at the 93nd Ohio State Fair in Columbus runs August 23 29 with judging starting August 25 and continuing through August 29. Three National Livestock Shows will run in parallel with Red Poll Belgian and Percheron associations competing for national honors.

Mrs Allen Suffers Foot Break on Vacation Trip

Mrs W R Allen of East Findlay Street has a broken bone in the left instep after slipping on loose gravel at a Springfield Illinois filling station. The injury occurred as she and husband started a vacation journey to the Dakotas and Yellowstone Park on their first day away from home. Her foot remains in a cast for four weeks.

Moose Leaders Visit Mooseheart and Initiate at Mansfield

Secretary Clifford Neff and Past Governor Ray Gamberling visited Mooseheart Illinois, praising the Child City run by the Loyal Order of Moose. The Carey Moose degree team traveled to Mansfield to initiate a large class, with some Carey candidates joining. Lunch followed the meeting and members urged attendance and friendship.

Motored Family Trip to South Carolina

Pvt Dallas C Bland of Carey Ohio serves in the 21st Infantry Regiment within the 24th Infantry Division in Japan. The 24th Division, also called the Victory Division, occupies Kyushu. Bland joined September 27 1946 at Ft Hayes and arrived Japan January 3 1947. He attended G1 education and formerly worked for National Lime and Stone Co. of Carey.

Operation on Hand for Young Patient at Lima Memorial

John Myers two year old son of Mr and Mrs Don Myers of South Street was hospitalized two weeks at Lima Memorial. On Wednesday July 390 the boy underwent an operation on his right hand to separate his thumb and first finger. The operation was successful and the patient is progressing well.

Carey Hi School announces a full staff for the 1947 48 term led by new principal Arthur E Wohlers.
