On August 2 pupils in grades 8 through 12 must report to the high school to complete schedule cards. A split August 27 timetable assigns ninth through twelfth graders to one hour slots for schedules and lockers. September 2 first day has 8:55 a.m. reporting for all grades with seventh graders2nd report to rooms 23 and 24.
One hundred twenty two candidates filed petitions with the Wyandot County Board of Elections before August 6 for township and municipal offices and school boards. In Crawford township John Fox seeks reelection as trustee joined by Dean Wright. C C Thome seeks clerk reelection and N J Brown for constable. Carey public schools elect two board members with D J Frazier seeking reelection and D W Weber filing to succeed Dr L Treece whose term ends this year.
Mrs John F Kloepfer 66 of Findlay sustained a severe head bump at 12 50 p m Tuesday in a two car crash in front of 1112 E Sandusky street. The accident involved her husband driving into the driveway and James E Waltermath of the Findlay Veterans Trailer Camp. Police Officer Clyde Cramer investigated.
Livestock judging at the 93nd Ohio State Fair in Columbus runs August 23 29 with judging starting August 25 and continuing through August 29. Three National Livestock Shows will run in parallel with Red Poll Belgian and Percheron associations competing for national honors.
Mrs W R Allen of East Findlay Street has a broken bone in the left instep after slipping on loose gravel at a Springfield Illinois filling station. The injury occurred as she and husband started a vacation journey to the Dakotas and Yellowstone Park on their first day away from home. Her foot remains in a cast for four weeks.
The American Legion Earl Green Post 344 calls a special meeting for Tuesday evening August 19 at 8 30. Commander J A Schira urges all members to attend.
The American Aberdeen Angus Breeders Association reports Burson and Cook of Carey sold 27 purebred Aberdeen Angus cows and 5 bulls at a public sale on March 28. Purchasers include O. P. Smith, Mabel C. Zeigler, Carl W. Presor & Sons, Joby Fredritz & Son, J. L. Foucht, W. A. Martin & Son, C. B. Holycross, F. P. Parker, Martin Frey, J. W. Ovitt & Son, Myrri Hinton & Son, McGill Bros., and Carl Trautman.
Secretary Clifford Neff and Past Governor Ray Gamberling visited Mooseheart Illinois, praising the Child City run by the Loyal Order of Moose. The Carey Moose degree team traveled to Mansfield to initiate a large class, with some Carey candidates joining. Lunch followed the meeting and members urged attendance and friendship.
Banns of matrimony were published Sunday morning in the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation Carey for Miss Dread McKinnon daughter of Mr and Mrs Ira McKinnon of Carey and Edward Haferd son of Mr and Mrs George Haferd of Frenchtown. Banns also published for George E Niederkohr son of Mr and Mrs Harry Niederkohr of Carey and Miss Martha Lucius daughter of Mr and Mrs Anthony Lucius of Upper Sandusky.
Mrs Saltzman Mrs Greeley Marshall Mrs Charles McCormick and Mrs Vedna Walter attended the annual Mothers Exchange reunion at the Southern Hotel in Mansfield on Wednesday July 30. The meeting, sponsored by the Ohio Farmer, aims to improve farm life through sharing ideas among farm women.
Miss Virginia A. Mitten of Carey appears on the spring quarter honor list at Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences for students achieving B average or higher.
A petition to set aside the will of Etta V. Greer of Carey is set for hearing in the common pleas court at Upper Sandusky on Saturday August 23. Forrest Luzader of Seneca county leads heirs named in the 1944 will detailing numerous bequests to churches, a cemetery fund, a veterans post, a library, and the Qesterlen Home for Children.
At St Bonaventure college summer commence ment on August 13 Carey Ohio hosted graduates from Our Lady of Carey Seminary. Rev Bonaventure Crowley and Rev Corbin Kerk ersid received MA and MA respectively. In total 41 graduate and 40 undergraduate students earned degrees.

A seven room house on High street once owned by Ralph Zender was sold to Arthur Foster of Crawford, an employee of the A C and Y railroad. The sale was handled by John Risner, a local real estate broker.
A Social Security Administration field representative from Marton will be at Carey Municipal Building on Tuesday August 19 at 3 00 p m to assist residents with services.
The Carey fire department will stage a homecoming from Wednesday to Saturday August 20 to 23. White Star attractions will provide entertainment on S Vance Street evenings only during these four days with rides and amusements for all.
Community groups and businesses including Carey Cooperative Food Locker Plant Carey Implement Store and American Legion have donated to the Firemen's Homecoming to be held next week. Organizers note not everyone could be reached and another donor list will publish next week.

Mr and Mrs Paul Bland and sons Robert Patrick and Dean Fout returned home Saturday from an eight day motor trip to South Carolina visiting Mrs Bland s cousins in Columbia Abbeyville and Gaffney. They traveled via the Smoky Mountains and on the return through the Blue Ridge mountains in Kentucky.

Pvt Dallas C Bland of Carey Ohio serves in the 21st Infantry Regiment within the 24th Infantry Division in Japan. The 24th Division, also called the Victory Division, occupies Kyushu. Bland joined September 27 1946 at Ft Hayes and arrived Japan January 3 1947. He attended G1 education and formerly worked for National Lime and Stone Co. of Carey.
Aaron J. Halloran of Springfield was elected commander of the American Legion in Ohio at the closing session of the annual convention in Cincinnati. J Sawyer of Middletown and Carl W. Smith of Kenton were named vice commanders. Tom McDonald Jones of Youngstown became treasurer and Rabbi Michael Aaronsohn of Cincinnati, blinded in World War II, was named chaplain.
Logan Wohlgamuth, 77, remains in serious condition at his home 31 miles southwest of Carey after his Ford left the road Monday August 4 and struck a large rock on Lakeland grounds near the southwest corporation line He suffered painful body bruises several cracked ribs facial cuts and bruises He was removed to his home by the Golf ambulance The auto was demolished His son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Chester Vogel live with him
Sgt Cc H Oberdier of the Marion army recruiting station with Set L Brandon will interview interested applicants at the Carey Municipal building each Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 4. Questions about European and other foreign and domestic service branches will be answered.
John Myers two year old son of Mr and Mrs Don Myers of South Street was hospitalized two weeks at Lima Memorial. On Wednesday July 390 the boy underwent an operation on his right hand to separate his thumb and first finger. The operation was successful and the patient is progressing well.

Carey Hi School announces a full staff for the 1947 48 term led by new principal Arthur E Wohlers. Staff includes teachers for seventh through twelfth grades, a head coach, and specialists in manual training, mathematics, science, civics, commercial studies, English and history, foreign language, physical education, and music. A detailed 180 day calendar outlines nine months and six six week grading periods for pay, grading, and honor roll.
John Walters and Kenneth Baughman purchased land from George Shuman at the corner of Shuman road and Route 15 a mile west of Carey. They will build homes for their use and develop the remainder for sale of building lots. Sale handled by Arthur Stoll, a real estate salesman.
The Mary M artha class of Christ Lutheran Sunday school will hold its annual picnic Monday evening at the Frederick summer cottage west of Crawford. Attendees should meet at the church at 6 pm and bring a covered dish sandwiches and table service.
Troop 13 of the Boy Scouts Carey holds a meeting Monday August 18 at 7 00 pm All Scouts must attend to be eligible for the court of honor and the reeds to be awarded by the Church Brotherhood on August 28
