Moose Convention Set in Columbus for 59th Year
The Loyal Order of Moose holds its 59th annual convention in Columbus from August 17 to 21 with 25 000 members expected. Gov Thomas J Herbert and Columbus mayor James M Rhodes will welcome attendees as Moose members from state and city offices join the event. The Boy Scouts of America receive a 25000 dollar donation from the Moose supreme lodge. A 35 foot moose monument will symbolize Moose City during the week. Ralph Livingston Visits Carey During Friday Stopover
Ralph Livingston of Columbus visited Carey on Friday while en route to Findlay for the wedding of Patricia Sink and Marion C. Howard Jr. Their son Robert, Purdue chemistry professor, could not attend. Livingston’s sister Hazel Bayne, a former Carey teacher, will teach in Lancaster schools this fall after studying at Ohio Northern. Bayne’s husband George Bayne died September 15 1946 in Columbus after a throat infection from a Lake Erie fishing trip. death listed as coronary thrombosis. He worked as an engineer in the Franklin County engineer's office.
