The Peerless Dry Cleaners based in Ada will open a Carey branch on Monday August 25 in the Carey theatre building room once the Carey Novelty Shop occupied. Fred Hawley is proprietor with son Bill Hawley as partner and manager of the Upper Sandusky store also handling Carey duties. The Ada plant operates with branches in Leipsic and Upper Sandusky.

Carey Announces New Theatre Admissions Tax
On August 18 1947 Carey City Council approved Ordinance No 367 on second reading creating a tax on admissions to the Carey Theatre effective October 1 1947. Children travel up to 13 cents from 9 cents adults and students up 2 and 1 cent. A final hearing is set for September 2 at 8 PM. residents may attend to voice objections managed by Leo T Jones Carey Theatre.
