Precinct tallies show Democratic nominees leading in county posts while Republicans trail. County Commissioner Kraft 124 votes, Hudson 138, and Prosecuting Attorney Grger 113. Sheriff Weatherholtz leads among local offices with solid turnout across precincts.
Crawford Ridge Farm Bureau members will meet Wednesday night August 20 at Moose hall. An exhibit for the county fair will be planned and a wheat fertilizer discussion plus orders will be taken. Committee members will handle refreshments and an entertaining program.
Manager Capell presents a free show on Wednesday evening August 20 featuring a twenty minute comedy Keeping Company a Vitaphone act The General a Technicolor sketch William O Neal in Songs and Comedy and Mickey Mouse in When the Cats Away.
The Jennie Larmonth Society of Christ Lutheran Church will meet Monday evening with Mrs Russell Gottfried and Miss Gertrude Yohe assisting. Mrs Walter Gottfried and Mrs Gust Summit will lead, with a good attendance urged.
Anna Lucille Stiner of Carey and Albert Lewis Walters of Akron railway agent were married at the first English Lutheran church on Johnson Street Wednesday at 9 AM. They were unattended. Rev Potts officiated.
The Carey Rod and Gun Club along with district conservation officers rescued fish from shallow creek pools last Thursday and Sunday and relocated them to deeper water. Drought has dried many streams, causing thousands of fish losses.
Large crowds gathered Sunday for the annual August pilgrimage to Our Lady of Consolation Shrine with visitors expected to peak Friday as record numbers attend the event.
The wading pool at the park will be emptied Thursday evening and not be refilled until Monday morning due to large crowds at the park during the pilgrimage.

Margaret Esther Dunaway aged 9 of Three Rivers dies Friday afternoon after months of illness at her home 406 Constantine Shelvat. Born August 13 1914 she lived in Three Rivers all her life attended local schools and served in church activities including cradle roll. Survived by parents sister Katherine grandmother Lizzie Snyder and many relatives. Funeral at Haring chapel Monday at 2 with Rev. Slee and Rev. Watts. interment Riverside. Remains lie in state at home Sunday 2 to 6.
Miss Ruth Diller accompanied college students on a European tour and will land in Montreal on the Aquitania Friday before arriving in Carey Sunday night or Monday. She saw the Passion Play at Oberammergau on July 16 and visited multiple countries. On the return voyage, the south coast of Labrador was shrouded in dense fog, forcing the ship to drop anchor for a day and night, then encountering icebergs.
J. H. Keckler rents the John Simonis room at 109 W. South Street to operate horseshoeing and general blacksmithing. The space was vacated by A. L. Arnold who used it as a poultry warehouse and now occupies the nearby small building opposite his cream station.

Miss Mildred Campbell leaves Milton Center central school to teach kindergarten and first grade at Monroeville near Cleveland. The change places her in a new assignment expanding early grade instruction in the rural district.
Frank Shellhouse of Indianapolis visited his aunt in Carey last Thursday night. He compared Carey today with 50 years past noting mud streets and few utilities, but praised absence of saloons and overall prospering. Shellhouse recalled his 30 year ago lecture trip to the Holy Land and Egypt. he still has stereopticon views and serves as president of the Shellhouse Fireproof Warehouse Co. Elmer Shellhouse, surviving son of E S Shellhouse, works in Marion in the insurance field.

A public address system is installed at Our Lady of Consolation church to announce to arriving pilgrims this week. The microphone sits atop the front entrance steps with loudspeakers on each side. Burke of Marion installed the system assisted by Harry Bristoll and D A Capell of this place.
Miss Charlotte Montague, known as Miss Indian Lake, will enter the August 1921 beauty contest at Rus sells Point. The winner will travel to Havana to compete for Miss America.

Carey defeated West Independence 3-0 on their field last Sunday. Key hits came in the pinches with strong pitching by Walborn as the visitors threatened. Clyde Walborn fanned six batters while Swihart struck out eight for Independence. Next Sunday Carey visits North Baltimore at the rubber plant field.
Telephone cables were severed when a pick damaged the line in front of Mrs. Sadie Kennerley’s residence on W Findlay street. 330 of 660 wires were cut, disrupting service in the town’s west end until the next afternoon. Expert cable splicer F D Ferrer from Wellington and helper Faye Boone worked from 4:00 am Tuesday to restore and casing was replaced by noon Wednesday.

Rev C Poling of Canton former pastor of St Paul Evangelical church south of Vanlue will give a talk at St Paul church Monday August 18 at 8 o clock. He will recount his trip to the Holy Land with 73 pictures many colored. He spoke to residents in many homes and his lecture is free and open to the public.
The Fox family reunion will be held at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky on Sunday August 17. H B Hagesfeld of Cleveland serves as president and Miss Eulalia Fox of Tiffin is secretary-treasurer. Bathing in the park pool and other amusements are planned.
A chicken supper will be served at St Nicholas church Frenchtown six miles north of Carey on Sunday August 17 after 4 30. The price is 50 cents.
The Beebe Threshing Ring will hold a picnic at Carey Park Tuesday August 19, changing the date from the previously announced Thursday.
Carey residents report the First National Bank was robbed Friday at 12 30 PM by two swarthy men in a green Chevrolet coach. They escaped with about $550, followed by a car chase toward Vanlue and a near-bridge incident as workers halted repairs. A license tag linked to a Wayne Williams man in Risingsun caused a false lead.
Carey Boy Scouts Troop No 1 announces a Father and Mother Night at the high school auditorium on Friday August 15. The program shows parents what the boys do in meetings with a tenderfoot badge ceremony and refreshments.
