Local voters cast 557 in primary with Krebs and Mitchell leading

In Tuesday’s primary 557 ballots were tallied with 409 Democratic and 148 Republican votes. S H Krebs won the Democratic mayoral nomination and C D Mitchell the Republican. May Mullholand and Jacob Nitrauer were named as clerks for Dem and Republican tickets respectively.

John F Hoy Dies at Vanlue after Long Illness

John F. Hoy 76 of Vanlue died at 8 20 Saturday morning after a two year illness. Born December 11, 1854 in Jackson township he farmed in Hancock County. Survived by wife Eliza Miller Hoy two brothers William Hoy Cincinnati and Smith H Hoy Findlay and many friends. Funeral 2 30 Monday at Vanlue Methodist with Odd Fellows burial service. interment Houcktown Cemetery.

Injured in Accident Near Findlay Woman Transported Home

Mrs. Winfield Tong of Findlay was brought to her parents on W Findlay Street after a truck she rode in with her husband was hit by a car from a by road. She had been at Home Hospital since Saturday with painful bruises. Mr. Tong was uninjured.

Missionary Meeting of local women societies

The Woman's Home and Foreign missionary society met at Mrs. Sadie Kennerley's home on W Findlay street for their regular monthly gathering. Mrs. Emeretta Brown led devotionals and Miss Emma Stief taught a lesson on South America Today. Guest Mrs. Nettie Davidson of Detroit spoke, then the group joined in Work For the Night Is Coming before a benediction. The Ladies' Aid held a brief business session, with a social committee serving refreshments.

Wyandot County Snake Hunter Displays Three Rattlers

Sidney Norris of MiMin township captured three rattlesnakes at the Mrs. Iva Bones farm near his home. The snakes with five four and three rattles were brought to the city and shown at the First National bank. Norris plans to exhibit them at Walbridge park in Toledo after their display here.

The annual achievement meeting of the 4 H Happy Hour sewing club was held Wednesday evening with the farm bureau. Demonstrations by Luella Bland Mary Yost Margaret Wenzinger Bernice Kimmel Helen Ruehle Florence McKee showcased finished garments on display and a luncheon followed.

Death of James Greiner near Raymond

James Greiner of near Raymond died on June 26 1931. Funeral services were held at Raymond on June 28. He is survived by his wife and four children Lawrence of Columbus and Doris Harold and JDonald at home Five sisters Mrs Earl Ward Mrs Rhoda Hart Mrs May Platt and Mrs Jane Liming all of Wharton and Mrs Lib Pierce of Cleveland Also survived by former resident status in Carey.

Drum Corps Triumph at Riverside Park Contest

Earl Green post American Legion drum corps won second prize of 15 dollars in the Sunday contest at Riverside park Findlay during Legion gala week. Kenton post took first with 35 dollars and 75 point rating. Carey corps was close with 72 and a half points. Judges were William Sudro and Eddie Herzog. Local supporters accompanied the corps to Findlay.

Ayrshire Calf Club discusses state fair exhibit plans

Ayrshire Calf club members debated possible heifer exhibitions at the state fair. They considered transport for club representatives to the judging contests and reviewed unpaid premiums from Wyandot county fair. Mike Vaughn was appointed to join the committee with the leader to pursue arrangements. The group met in the high school vacation room and scheduled another meeting there next Tuesday night.

Freshmen planning to enter Carey High School must register Friday August 14 at 9 30 am at the high school building. Upperclassmen who failed to register last spring are also asked to register on the same date.

Mayor Ed Campbell Jr and council members meet to approve bills for Ohio Power Co printing services and street work. A request for a drinking fountain at Vance and South streets is tabled for street committee review. The meeting adjourns with plans for a franchise and a new city building discussed for a later session.
