Picnic Brings Scouts and Stewards Joyful Meadow Brook Day
On Tuesday August 4 a joint outing of Boy Scout Troop No 3 and Our Lady of Consolation church servers met at Meadow Brook Park Bascom. Thirty six attended with Father Paul Father Edwin and Scoutmaster Henry Pieraccini. Activities included salutes games and songs followed by two base ball games and swimming. A noon feast satisfied the hungry group and a 7 pm weiner and corn roast capped the day as they returned at about 8 30.

James Anderson of Sidney died Tuesday of last week at his home from heart trouble and complications. A former Carey resident, he moved to Sidney about 40 years ago. Two Die in Grade Crossing Accident Near Alvada
Two men, C A Herbert age 56 of Alvada and Daniel J. Wickerham of Fostoria, were killed when a Chesapeake and Ohio freight collided with their Ford coupe at a grade crossing on Herbert road near Alvada. Lightning destroys barn and kills livestock near town
Lightning struck a barn owned by Miss Lucy Laughlin east of town during a Saturday storm tearing two roof holes. One horse died and another was knocked down and blinded.
