Mr and Mrs Robert Pieracini have bought the S Vance street house occupied by Mr and Mrs Edward Mathias. They reside in a section of the double house at the corner of N Vance street and Brown avenue owned by Truman Cole and will move in once the Mathias family finds another residence.
Lakeland fishing club warns that nonmembers on club grounds are banned and will be prosecuted after repeated damage to the boat house rocks. A. N. Stevens presides.
Mr and Mrs Rene Dubois will attend the annual Ohio sales department convention of the Farm Bureau insurance companies. The event runs Tuesday through Thursday next week at Cedar Point.

The Poveréllo Credit Union directors held their third monthly meeting on July 24. The supervisory committee filed the first quarterly audit with recommendations and the credit committee reported membership 148 deposits 4418.40 loans 28135.00. They voted to apply for loan protection insurance from the Credit Union National Association. Ralph Brown explained the service covers death or disability with full loan repayment by the CU National Association. The notary service and lowered loan rates were noted and the office at 245 Clay Street will open Saturdays 8 00 to 9 00 p m in addition to existing hours.
The Wyandot County Hog Improvement Association invites members families and friends to a tour on Wednesday August 9. The morning stop is the frog farm at the State Reformatory Mansfield and the afternoon visit the penal institution. Attendees may bring a picnic dinner meet at the courthouse at 8 a m. Richard Simonis sustained fractures to the first three fingers of his left hand when a 20 gallon drum of oil rolled from a rack and struck his hand as he reached for a part at Mapes Color and Melody Shop. He received treatment at a local physician’s office and was unconscious briefly due to shock.
Ralph Haferd & Sons, Brown Swiss breeders near Carey Ohio, sold the bull Dolly Fern's Dick 100938 to Russel Rupright of Findlay. The report comes from Fred S&S Idise, secretary of the Brown Swiss Cattle Breeders association in Beloit Wisconsin.

The Village of Carey announces it will contest a court suit brought by Ernest Dunn and others opposing the $1.00 per front foot assessment for new West Findlay Street curbing. The 1947 improvement, funded mainly by state aid, faces possible restraining action that could deplete public funds and delay future street work.
Residents are invited to Zahn's Insurance office Wednesday evening August 9 at 8 o'clock to discuss installing an outdoor shuffleboard court at Carey Memorial Park. A meeting aims to form a club to oversee the project and address related matters.

The selective service office in the county courthouse Upper Sandusky announces new hours this week. It opens Monday to Wednesday from 8 a m to 12 noon and 1 to 6 30 p m. Thursday hours are 8 a m to 12 noon and 1 to 3 p m. Closed Friday and Saturday.
Corbin Fletcher faced Officer Vincent Jacob after a parking dispute Saturday afternoon. He was fined 10 dollars plus costs for intoxication and sentenced to 60 days in jail for resisting an officer, the sentence suspended on good behavior.

At the Carey Kiwanis meeting on Monday July 31 Miss Constance Keller of Bucyrus spoke as guest. Keller is probate judge of Crawford County and described juvenile court activities with anonymized case histories. The program was led by the underprivileged children's committee chaired by Charles Schwemley. Attendance surpassed forty as members brought their wives. No next month programs announced yet.
Dr. Richard Arnett, 27, of Kenton recently opened a clinic above Peoples Bank, was moved from San Antonio hospital to Children's hospital in Columbus after a mild polio diagnosis. Columbus doctors found no polio signs and he is expected to be discharged soon.
Mr and Mrs Ralph E Kurtz returned home Saturday evening from Ely Minnesota where they enjoyed a three week vacation. They were joined by their daughter Miss Mary Ellen of Columbus and Mrs Kurtz brother and sister in law Dr and Mrs Leonard Myers and son Bob of Cheyenne. Cole, are spending two months at Ely.

The Carey Merchants defeated Marion Shanty Town 10 to 7 on Sunday night with solid batting led by Dick Ward and H Fabiani. Ward drove in two on a first inning homer, while Fabiani, Wenzinger and Buckingham added key hits as the Merchants built an early lead and held on for the win.
Gilbert M and Jane R Lonsway bought an acre from George H and Gertrude S Orians near Berlin Heights and a modernized seven room home. The Orians keep 20 acres of their farm. The Lonsways are twin siblings of the late R M Lonsway of Carey. Sandra Rose, daughter of the Lonsways, recently saw the Carey Lions club baseball caravan pass the Orians home on State Route 113 toward Cleveland.
Daniel Joel Nestle an 11 year old evangelist will attend the Pentecostal Church of God northwest of Carey on Shuman road Friday evening August 11 at 7 o clock. The public is invited.
