Tiffin Defeats Tires In Local Baseball Game

Stolen bases by Donelson Le Crone Blackburn and Dugan. Dugan had a two base hit. Hauser added a three base hit. Double plays featured LeCrone to Hauser to Blackburn. Freuch backed up with Schauder to Dugan. Bland struck out six. Essex allowed the only passed ball. Carey 4, Tiffin 4 left on base. Umpires Draper and Greene. Time 1 hour 30 minutes. Obituary: Sylvia C. Crimer Dies at 19 in Toledo

Miss Sylvia C. Crimer daughter of Mr and Mrs C M Crimer of Toledo died Friday July 28 at St Vincent's Hospital Toledo after a brief illness with peritonitis. She was 19, born Carey July 17 1893. She worked as bookkeeper and stenographer in Toledo for R G Dunn Mercantile Agency. Survived by parents two brothers and grandfather Frank O'Brien Crawford. Burial in Ritchie cemetery. Funeral at Crawford Methodist Church Reverend W M Keller officiating. Pallbearers Paul Whaley W Proctor William Sammet Dean Wright George Wright Elmer Good.

Miss Florence Dow Weds Harry B Kinney in Springfield

Miss Florence Dow and attorney Harry B Kinney were married last Thursday at the Methorthist parsonage in Springfield. The bride, a Carey High School and Ohio Wesleyan University alumna, will be Carey High School principal. They plan to reside in Carey with the bride’s mother on West Main Street.

Kiwanis Luncheon Features Quartet Entertainment

The Kiwanis publicity committee ran Monday's luncheon with a male quartet including Carl Mitchell Rev W F Martin J D Ewing and J A Newcomer providing entertainment. A delegate to the September Cincinnati state convention will be elected at the next luncheon. H L Wenner drew today’s prize.

Twelve licenses were issued in July, down from six more than last year. Lyle Ballou and Constance Humphrey married at Upper Sandusky with Esquire Joseph Bolish officiating. Upper Sandusky resident Joseph Seiger, 82, Civil War veteran, died at home after illness. Mrs. Alvin Curts of near town died at Grant Hospital after an appendectomy and stroke. Carnival chief Watt fined for an immoral show. funds for release and third member Bennet leave jail until fines are paid.

Local 1923 Chautauqua goals set after successful 1922 run

Careys 1922 Chautauqua posted a small deficit of about 250 dollars but featured strong programs. The Festival Quartet gave two concerts and Charles Howard Plattenburgh urged loyalty to home and buying locally. Friendly Enemies by the Keighley Broadway Players drew crowds and praised for wartime loyalty themes. The junior pageant Conquests of Peace impressed Miss Weiss and Miss Motter. Princess Testa and two Indian friends performed Saturday. Superintendent Goss secured enough signers to guarantee next year’s Chautauqua.

Braun and Holtz Bride in Toledo nuptials at Our Lady of Consolation

Jerome Braun and Catherine Holtz of Toledo wed last Saturday in a Nuptial high mass at Our Lady of Consolation. The bride wore canton crepe with pearls and carried white carnations and sweet peas. A breakfast followed at the groom’s parents home and the couple planned to reside on Walbridge Ave in Toledo.

Gerald Neil Perkins of United Evangelical church Carey joins 111 graduates at Moody Bible Institute Chicago class of 193? Twenty four states and six foreign countries are represented. Brandt Feck Family Reunion Held at Seneca Driving Park

Mr and Mrs J J Brandt and Mrs Arthur Phillips attended with family and Charles Feck as 120 relatives gathered at Seneca Driving Park in Tiffin for the first Brandt Feck reunion. Officers elected include President J J Brandt Carey and Secretary Agnes Michaelis Toledo. Next reunion slated for May 28 1923 at the same site.

Helena Brother Reunion Ends as Kesslers Meet After 17 Years

George Kessler of Helena Montana visited his brother John Kessler near the town after a 17 year separation. George, educated in France and Austria, is a mathematics and chemistry teacher who came to America 20 years ago, learned English, and wrote a book titled Democracy and Citizenship. He will move to Seattle to teach mathematics in a private school.
