The Carey Memorial Park recreation program ended Friday with Hobo Day. Dan Welsh was named king and Carol Fabiani queen, both nine, with runners up Lawrence Weatherholtz and Terrie Richards. A parade, candy scramble, races, and baseball finals—Cardinals beat Blue Jays 15 14 and 8 7, then Orioles defeated Blue Birds 19 16 and 11 10. 30 23 in a later game. Pete Fanning led the program funded by the Community Chest and Boys' and Girls' Activities committee.

Lightning Damage At Risner Home
MR and MRS MELVIN RISNER at 115 S Muncie Street suffered fire damage after a severe electrical storm. Lightning likely entered via a line from a TV tower, burning curtains the clock and nearby woodwork while the upstairs was sealed off by a stair door and the couple slept downstairs with air conditioning on. The washer timer in the basement was also damaged.

The village electric crew labored through 24 hours after a severe wind and electrical storm struck about 10 30 p m Friday. Line Superintendent Paul Van Dusen says 2400 volt primaries were down from fallen branches and 62 2400 volt street light bulbs burned out mainly from shorts. South Lake Street, rebuilt after the June storm, suffered the hardest hit. West Street power was off about three hours with three primaries down.

Clerk Auditor Zenith McLarkey reports July parking meter receipts at 48950, down from 55625 a year earlier. First seven months total 3784, down 36475 from 414875 in 1955. Meter violation fines last month amount 4639. Auditor records show 15 dollars from three solicitor permits for a total of 6.39. Five-Legged Frog Spotted During Creek Spearing
In Ty mochtee Creek west of Crawford on Tuesday evening Sam Ruffing and Bob Wisner speared 14 frogs. They found a five legged frog with a small extra limb attached near the back of the right leg. Joe Doran also enjoys frog spearing and, with Wisner, has been freezing their catches for later meals.
