Easter services at the Evangelical Church drew strong crowds despite rain. Nearly 300 in Sunday school and 90 in the youth department filled the church, with gifts, baptisms, and a First Easter cantata planned for next week after a church attendance contest with Upper Sandusky.

Joseph Wehrle dies suddenly at home in Adrian
Joseph C. Wehrle died Sunday afternoon at his Adrian home from a heart attack. Funeral services were held at the home with Rev. A C Rainsberger officiating. Burial took place in Baker cemetery. Pallbearers included EB Mullholand of Carey and several Adrian residents. He was a farmer, Odd Fellow, married to Emma Ewing in 1889, and survived by a foster son Fred Ewing and several siblings.

Death of Mrs. J. D. Carothers at Home After Illness
Mrs. J D Carothers died Friday evening at her home north of town after a short illness from a stroke of paralysis. She had been in declining health the past two years but was not bedfast until the last illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 00 pm at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev Paul Ak Clouser presiding. A quartet sang Abide With Me and That Wonderful, Tanaara Taterment was performed. Pallbearers included Robert Dow of Tiffin, Dow, John Dow, A C Berry, Dean McGill and Andrew Collet. She was born here 73 years ago to Alvin and Dorcas Dow and married J D Carothers Oct 25 1883. Surviving are her husband, a foster son A C Berry of Three Rivers, Mich., one brother and three sisters W S Dow and Mrs Herbert Bixby of Long Beach Calif, Mrs A A Kaley of Red Cloud Neb, Mrs J M Brown of Jacinto, Calif. One brother J C Dow preceded her. Foster grandson Richard Berry of Three Rivers also survives. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for 48 years. Her life was spent in this community.
