Campaign report shows the Carey Red Cross war fund exceeded the $4,400 quota with receipts of $4,503.09. Honor Roll lists numerous donors including Carey Handle & Number Co, Mr. and Mrs. Zumbach, Martha Ritter, Albert Bentz, Carey Garn, James Briggs, Charles Miller, Adah Grady, Chester Platt, Karl Fields, Elmer Powers, J. B. Reynolds, Tillie Messer, Julia Shenk, James Cameron, Floyd Kinepfer, Don Myers, H. K. Evans, Arthur Winyard, Murry Johnson, Carl Hunter, HW. A. Miller, Don Parfitt, Loyal Order of Moose Garey Lodge No. 1607, Wyandot County Farm Bureau, Carey Branth, J. T. Stombaugh, Swan Rubber Co and others.
Carey student Dorthy J. Hood ranked first among 42 Wyandot county high school seniors taking the state scholarship test at Upper Sandusky High School on March 11. Scores placed Hood at 720, with several Upper Sandusky and Carey students among the top 10. honorable mentions noted for Mintter Heck Schira and others.
The Carey Kiwanis Club will entertain the Carey Community Club on Monday evening April 10 at Arabey's restaurant at 7 00 sharp. All Kiwanians and Community members are asked to attend. A interesting program has been arranged and good attendance is requested.

Girl Reserves staged a lovely Easter pageant last Sunday. Easter vacation runs from yesterday to next Tuesday. Hi Y conducted a short Easter program Wednesday morning. Senior play cast chosen for April 28. Band Mothers sponsor a second band concert Friday, April 14, with a guest conductor from Versailles. Six-week term ends with week left to finish the school year on May 18.
The Carey Philharmonic society directed by Donald L. Parfitt will host its 10th annual Spring concert at the Methodist church on April 18 at 8 30. The program blends secular and religious numbers with special appearances by Alvin Burkholder Findlay Mrs Cecil Laird Patsy Laird Miss Rita Brown and Mrs Max Eimas. The public is invited to attend.
The J. A. Vaughn family expresses gratitude to friends for calls letters prayers vigil lights and masses offered for Jim's safety during this time.

Cecil James Stapley of Carey and Guy Wilson Stansbery of Upper Sandusky left Friday for the naval induction center in Columbus. They were chosen from the Wyandot county pool after physical examinations and selection for the Navy awaiting call.

L. G. Love of Findlay, general manager of National Lime and Stone Co., announced sixty nine thousand dollars in improvements at the Carey Plant. The work includes upgraded locker and wash facilities, a steel and glass repair shop with modern lighting, ventilation, and new machinery. Dust control and in-shop repair work will be added. funds are appropriated and construction to begin when materials arrive.
Holy Week services were inaugurated with Palm Sunday blessing and High Mass at 10:30. On Holy Thursday 8:45 a.m. Solemn High Mass commemorates the institution of the Eucharist with Blessed Sacrament exposed for homage. Good Friday 12 noon presanctified Mass and Tre Ore three hours feature the Passion with Rev Urban Wagner and Rev Gerard Gerrity performing key roles.
George J Newhard of Fostoria son of Mr and Mrs George Newhard has been called into active service at Fort Thomas Kentucky. He will report April 10 at the aviation cadet center in San Antonio Texas for processing and basic pre technical training. His wife will live with his parents meanwhile.
An Easter Sunrise Service will be held at Memorial Evangelical Church at 6 30 in the morning. The service will feature song prayer and praise with special music and a short talk by Mrs L Lee. Although run by the youth, all are welcome regardless of age or church affiliation.
