Carey High School Names May Graduation Speaker

Supt Hart B Driver announced the graduation speaker will be Dr Simon M Davidian pastor of Central Church of Christ Lima. Davidian born in Constantinople raised in Massachusetts is a Yale graduate and a veteran club and committee speaker. The Carey school notes cover annual contributors, a postponed chapel program replaced by a technicolor movie The Bill of Rights, and the senior scholarship test at Upper Sandusky with Carey students participating. Additionally the senior class play is under way with Frances Peirce and others in the cast and Miss Helen Smith directing.

Holy Week Observed by Carey Methodist Church

Holy Week activities begin this Sunday at Carey Methodist Church with infant baptisms and both senior and junior choirs. The pastor addresses The Victorious Christ as rally day for the church school. Road work to straighten Route 103 near Carey

Golden Tong of Upper San dusky reports that Route 103 southwest of Carey will be straightened by July 1. The project aims to remove the S curve where 15 year old Greeley Marshall Jr. was fatally injured on December 21, 1940.

Dr R J Semons Military Orders Revoked

Dr R J Semons who was ordered to report for duty as a first lieutenant in the medical corps at Fort Knox Kentucky on April 8 has received notice from the war department that the order is temporarily revoked. Semons was informed in Columbus Tuesday that he would undoubtably be called for military service but the departure date is indefinite.

Nobel Ales Family Attends Funeral in Wabash

Mr and Mrs Nobel Ales and their sons Raymond and Jimmy spent Saturday and Sunday in Wabash after being summoned by the death of Mrs Ales uncle Dwain King. King died in City hospital and funeral services were held Sunday afternoon. He is survived by his widow and two stepchildren.

Wittenberg college alumni from Carey and nearby areas gather at Christ Lutheran church Carey at 8 p m on April 4. Dr B H Pershing dean of students will speak with his daughter Margaret about the alumni campaign in five states raising 1 2 million dollars to reduce debt and grow endowment. Paul P Anspach directs the drive and will attend. Springfield United Lutheran college guests include the Wittenberg College quartet with Rhoda Knudten a Nagoya Japan junior. Knudten's mother Ruth Crum was born and raised in Carey.

Child Taken to Findlay Hospital for Illness
