Gypsies Evicted From Camp Near Crawford by Sheriff
On Wednesday March 17 at 1230 the Wyandot county sheriff and deputies with Carey and Upper Sandusky officers evacuated a large Gypsy camp along Tymochtee creek near Crawford. Sixteen trailer loads were escorted to the Crawford county line, then Marion county officers blocked entry and no final destination was learned.

Lewie Beis of northeast of Carey bought a 160 acre farm 3 miles west of Carey from Myron Clingman. The sale was handled by Arthur Stoll. Mr and Mrs Clingman moved to Upper Sandusky while Mr and Mrs Joseph Derr moved into the Clingman farm. Derr had lived on the Henry Davidson farm 314 miles south of Carey.
