Cameron Texas enacts a rabies vaccination ordinance requiring yearly vaccination for all dogs, with a $2.50 fee to the Sanitary Officer for vaccination and a tagged certificate. The measure creates records, penalties of up to $100, and an 18 day hold of unvaccinated dogs. emergency clause cited.
An old newspaper ad promises quick relief from head colds and catarrh by using Ely's Cream Balm. It claims fast nasal opening, soothing of inflamed mucous membranes, and easy breathing after applying the antiseptic cream in the nostrils. Available from druggists in a small bottle.
Deputy Sheriff Kennedy reports Mexican Jose Mayanas survived three gunshots and severe head and abdominal injuries with remarkable endurance after a clash in Milano. Wounds included skull breach and brain matter exposure. Fellow Mexican Folias Garcia is badly hurt from knife wounds. White rescuers and Lees Ain of Cleveland, Texas, are involved. Mellvain retrieved the officer’s pistol and fired, striking Mayanas.
Grand jury indictment alleges Mayanas attacked Garcia, then Bogven during arrest attempts. Reports say Mayanas was crazed and wounded Garcia in the stomach with a first shot. Rockdale Reporter notes the alleged unprovoked assault and subsequent arrest attempt.
