A historic sketch recounts Ben Arnold Texas born from the 1892 SA&AP railroad through Giddings to Waco. The town named for Captain Arnold’s daughter Bennie rose with a depot and first station agent Bob White, plus early stores, a gin, blacksmiths, a bank, and a one room school built in 1892 later expanding. Today the small community hosts two churches and a dozen or so businesses serving 100 to 150 residents.
