Ziegfield Influence Touched Naming of Milam County Mine
Florenz Ziegfeld, famed Broadway producer, indirectly linked to the Milam County lignite mine name Sandow by McAlester Fuel Co officials. Previously the site was known as Millerton after a local family and as Freezeout from mule drivers stopping at the stage and freight line origin.
