Rev. F. D. Dawson arrived in Thorndale to start a Sunday School Institute at the Methodist church. He is remembered fondly by locals from his 17 year pastorate and now leads institute work as a district field man. The 11 o clock service drew a large crowd as he spoke on the relationship of children to the church, delivering a masterly effort.
