John F. Grant Urges Building Amid Rising Lumber Prices
Houston, May 22. John F. Grant, a leading Texas lumberman, says lumber prices are set to rise further with $2.00 to $3.00 per thousand feet increases in thirty days and a projected $5.00 to $10.00 rise by early fall. He notes mills report heavy orders and 30 to 60 day delivery delays, but says construction costs are at 25 year lows and a building boom could return jobs and prosperity.
