A fragmented home recipe describes preparing a layered cake with two large tablespoons of lard or butter, 2 eggs, yolk, salt, and a butter sugar mix. It instructs mixing milk eggs and seasonings, baking a sponge, cooling, splitting the cake, spreading filling between layers, and topping with whipped cream and sprinkles.
The note advises removing flower pot stains by rubbing with a wood series labeled solution, rinsing window sills with old water, and freshening grass rugs by dyeing with two packages of dye dissolved in two quarts of water. Apply dye first on the wrong side, then the right side to set color.
A simple spring salad method instructs dicing cucumber tomatoes and radishes and chopping green onion. Toss with French dressing and chill in the ice box before serving on lettuce leaves. French dressing ratio given as one to nine vinegar to oil two to three.
The recipe describes combining crushed berries with gelatin dissolved in hot water and sugar, then folding in whipped cream as the mixture stiffens. It is poured into a mold and served with additional whipped cream, yielding about ten servings.
Recipe notes two dishes corn pudding and rhubarb sauce dessert. Corn pudding uses eggs corn milk butter sugar salt pepper and bake until set. Rhubarb sauce cooks rhubarb with sugar, chills, then fills pie shells and tops with whipped cream.
A regular Parent-Teacher meeting is set for Tuesday May 15 with the yearly closing event to follow on Thursday May 14. The outdoor City Park gathering begins at 3 30 PM with potluck dishes. a hit or miss lunch will be served from the contributed foods. Mrs Arthur Kruse speaks on Good Health Habits and Mrs L J Epperson leads in Community Recreation after the program.
Public notice that on Tuesday June 13 1933 between 10 AM and 4 PM at the Milam County Courthouse Cameron Texas the substitute trustee will sell 169 1 2 acres from the Jas A Williams survey to satisfy a debt owed to Union Central Life Insurance Company of Cincinnati Ohio. The land was conveyed to Will R Wade by L M Jackson and wife Catherine Jackson in 1921 and recorded Milam County Deed Records. The sale follows a default on the deed of trust dated September 28 1925 and recorded Vol 56 page 462.
Mrs M M Kirk of Rockdale and others traveled from Corpus Christi to Cameron after a fatal automobile crash on March 4. W H Burt died from injuries sustained in the collision. The burial took place Friday afternoon with many here remembering him as a well known Cameron Figure.
