Milam ASCS Reports Postponement of Wheat Marketing Quotas 1963
Milam County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service notes that marketing quotas and acreage allotments for the 1963 wheat crop are postponed to June 15 1962 by new Congress enacted legislation. The 1962 program reduces farm wheat allotments 19 percent from the 55 million acre minimum and offers diversion payments for conservation acreage. Wheat price support applies only to participants within farm allotments and the 1962 program also raises the marketing quota penalty and extends the quota to many small farms.
